Jazza Dickens vs Kid Galahad

Post by jBacca »

Jazza is on Facebook mentioning a hopeful fight against Kid Galahad.

Would be great if it came off. We've seen what Galahad can do, but not many have seen the talent that Dickens possesses.

Thoughts on the fight if it comes off?

At this moment I'd make Galahad a favourite based on who they've fought in their pro career if Jazza can get a 10 rounder in before then I'd make it a 50/50 fight, these are the type of fights that should be happening 2 unbeaten prospects fighting and a loss aslong as it not a 1 sided beat down is not the end of the world for either fighter

Never seen Jazza fight. Those I know who have seen him say he is the bollocks. I like the look of Galahad but he must step up his opposition and fight more regularly in 2013 he went 7 months without a fight last year and came back in a nothing fight.

Sounds too good to be true this fight hope I'm wrong.

Watched James Dickens since he was a boy boxing for Salisbury ABC.

He'll beat Galahad comfortably.

Jazza is very talented mate. Has an unorthodox style that is beautiful to watch and he's got enough power to keep people off him (counter puncher).

Seen a tiny bit of Dickens, but not enough to form a proper opinion. Looks a good fight on paper - probably means it won't happen!

All day my mate. Not confident bout will go ahead but if it does then we'll discuss terms.

:TU:

Hope it does go ahead. I know that Young Galahad was prepared to face the Walsh chap, so I don't know why he wouldn't face Mr Dickens. Given Galahad's Liverpool roots, it might be a good one to have over there...

Can't really see what's in this for Galahad, unfortunately.

He's ranked #1 contender for the European title and has a high ranking with WBC now as well.

Hate to sound like I'm being clever but what's the benefit for Barry in this fight? He's looking to fight guys above him in the rankings, not below (or unranked)

This is a fight for the future imo. It could be built up to be a real cracker in 12 months from now.

This is a genuine 50/50 fight and should happen... Would have preferred to see Walsh v Galahad but this one is almost as good... Super Bantamweight is full of Talent in the uk got Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton getting up to World Class also think that Ryan Walsh..Jezza Dickens and Kid Galahad all not too far behind should all be fighting each other..

If Galahad wanted to fight Walsh for the English title and Walsh vacates then surely he would be willing to fight for the same title against Dickens ? .
Well the board have put it out for purse bids, let's see who drops out this time? .
I dont think it will be dickens's team, he's been waiting for such an opportunity to test himself.

This is potentially a great domestic fight in the making for fight fans.

Galahad is thr fittest fighter in the ingle gym, he is also the most awkward. whilst not posessing absolute concussive punching power he is still very much a 'make him miss and make him pay' type fighter.

i cant see how dickens beats him. kid wins with late stoppage or points for me.

I agree with all this and remain totally convinced it's a straightforward fight for Barry but can't see what he gets out of it.

Galahad and Dickens have sparred by the way so each would be going in with their eyes open

Absolutely pointless for Barry at this stage in his career.
When Dickens has something to bring to the table maybe .... but until then.
Why on earth would his advisors want this, with a number one slot for the Euro and rising up the WBC rankings ?
Or put qanother way, would Dickend be interested if roles were reversed ?
Boxing is a business first and foremost like it, or like it not.

Did the last two posters have a quiet word with Witter when he was stalking Ricky for years and explain this?
