I just assume he wanted a prizefighter on the night of the Brook fight so that he could get the biggest possible audience for that and in true sky style remind us after every fight that Brook was up later that night ensuring that did decent numbers. So he arranged one for January to coincide with a Kal Yafai "homecoming" then Brook fight moves back and hes already arranged the dates for most of his stable so he has to do another prizefighter (as they do the best numbers anyway I think I read). It may mean we get a decent break from them after these two are out of the way in the early part of the year.

This Prizefighter recycling has become a bit of a joke and it amazes me how certain parts of the boxing media treat it in regards to rankings. Terry Flannigan was 4th in this week's Boxing News, ahead of Derry Mathews and Anthony Crolla, on the basis he was able to beat three guys over three three minute rounds back in October.
I wouldnt even mind if Prizefighter contests were omitted from a fighters record but having it to influence rankings is something else. This format was interesting at first but it has become very stale even with the added incentives.

Should be a decent night. Too many people look down their nose on prizefighter. It is what it is and nothing more. Take it for that and its an enjoyable evening.
Me and a few mates got our tickets yesterday. Early evening watch the egg-chasing v france in the pub, get to york hall for start at half seven, few beers on way back to mates flat and then the kell fight and undercard. Should be a decent evening.
The likes of Walker and Rogan could produce a few exciting moments over three rounds. Hopefully, the remaining spots can be filled with some more big punchers.

What's also quite funny is the presenters attempts at talking boxing, despite their obvious lack of knowledge. I'd like to say that's because Talksport is presented by twats (which it is), but that seems to be a problem with the media these days. They don't employ experts to talk about boxing, they employ mugs.
Agreed, but you'd have thought that these guys would be professional and do some basic research on whatever they are covering.
The worst I can remember is George Groves being interviewed in the SSN studio after the Degale victory - being asked if a fight with Amir Khan was likely at some point in the future!
Aye that was funny, he was the same spaz who asked if Valentino Rossi was any good.

Not being an arse. Lots of people equate "I don't like something" with "it's crap". Prizefighter is still drawing big enough crowds and enough viewers for it to be financially viable. It wouldn't happen so regularly if it had "become stale" in the majority view, and the majority is what counts in business.
Olivia is correct. Lewison was a really decent amateur but he was a lazy so and so even then. He's a classic case of someone with the natural aptitude and physical gifts who has not put the hours in (except for round the dinner table) and wasted his potential. If he takes off 5-10kg, gets fit and has decent sparring he could give any heavyweight in the country a tough night. If he remains bone idle, he'll go nowhere and get turned over by those who are prepared to work that bit harder.[/quote]
