When payment systems are ready to roll, then the venue is announced - otherwise the venue get a lot of calls that they can't convert into ticket sales.

Carl's official facebook has updated saying 'I hear London has nice weather in the summer' or words to that effect. So call me Sherlock Holmes but I think he may be hinting that a London venue is likely.

Nice weather - does this mean its outdoor?

Maybe at a football ground?

P.S. Is May summer? :shame:

Be surprised if it's an outdoor venue in May. Will still be football season.

All the talk recently has been about the O2 arena. If it's there I think I'll pay a bit extra and avoid the nosebleed seats this time!

Should be a great fight!

I hope it doesn't turn out to be a Eubank/Benn 2 type disappointment.

I think it will do very well. There is plenty of interest in my group of friends who definately fit into the casual bracket. Its a good fight, no doubt about it.

I think the fight will be announced as the 18th May. The Champions League final is on in London on the 25th and the Sky Sports editor of the Froch article said keep the last 2 weeks in May open for the fight!!!

Agreed. Was surprised how many people texted me that very rarely go with me to boxing expressing an interest. I think this will sell well and especially if Kessler does bring over 5k supporters.

Slight difference being that last years CL final wasn't in Nottingham; this years CL final is at Wembley.

Won't that help? Just means they won't have to send everyone to Nottingham.

Andre Dirrell?

But no I think Froch is a more confident fighter now, Kessler a more fragile fighter now. I can see it being a big big night for Froch, with his big supporters placing high in the P4P bracket and him being the first man to stop Kessler.

Froch lost the fight more than Kessler won it 3 years ago.... and the momentum is more with Froch now than ever.... Fresher, more active, home ground, confidence at a high. Froch went into the Kessler fight on the back of a lackluster, controvesial, decision victory - many didn't think he should have been WBC champion when he fought Kessler. This time he is going into it blitzing his last two opponents.

Yes and another difference was the CL Final was May 19 last year, and Froch-Bute was May 26.
