Joseph Parker

Post by Craig14 »

Nice to see a young heavyweight being active, 3-0 in six months and fighting in aussie soon against an unknown fighter but a guy who's not on a losing streak, I look forward to seeing how he progresses, seems like he has the right temperament and maybe more importantly the right connections.

Big fight for a 21 yo against Peter Graham. Graham is a ring vet in a few different sports.

Probably more so to do with his $$$ Backing

Graham is a tough fight, and if its only over 4 rounds he could have enough to give young Parker a hurry up

Graham is more into kick boxing than boxing. I am surprised they didn't throw him in with Vanilla Slice, or whatever his name is.

Vanilla's folk would probably have found the kid's 3-0 record too threatening.

Parker is very capable, still wet behind the ears as a pro. Hes young and learning his craft in the pro ranks, but id comfortably say hed spank Kimbo Slice no problem!

I realise Graham is more of a kickboxer than boxer, but hes a seasoned vet of the fight game and will present Parker a trus test. Interesting over 4 rounds to as Graham has the experience and nous to steal rounds and if Parker takes his time to get going the fight could be all over and hes copped an L!

From what of seen of Graham hes handy with hands even though that was a while ago, Parker is at least going in the right direction early.

His 2nd opponent, wow. I know he was a last minute replacement for the guy he was mean't to be fighting (he was actually his sparring partner) but he came in at nearly 170kgs, never won a pro fight and hadn't fought for 5 years. Luckily it was way out west and was the only pro fight on the bill so in the end turned out to be a good swerve. Hopefully there be plenty of opportunities to see Parker fight in NZ before he inevitably ends up chasing the big bucks in the states.

He is fighting Shane Tilyard, who has a rather spotty record.

Tilyard is the best out of the 6 boxers by far. Isn't he the only pro boxer out of them too?

I'd love to know how much Kimbo Slice is getting for this sideshow cameo appearence.

As a boxer Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson is unbeaten in six pro fights with five KOs. None of his opponents' names ring any bells.
