Prizefighter (UK) Records
Why are the individual bouts from these one-night single-elimination tournaments always listed in reverse chronological order? Every single participant for every tournament I've seen (the last several) has their record of fights from the night of the tournament listed in the wrong order. Namely, reverse order.
As a result, people who got eliminated have their earlier-round wins listed as higher (ie more recent) than their elimination losses. This makes no sense.
For instance, take Joe Ainscough:
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
He beat Wayne Reed in the quarterfinals, and THEN lost to Rocky Fielding in the semifinals. His last professional boxing match was a loss. Looking at his record as it's displayed, you wouldn't think that.
Boxrec's standard listing convention is top-to-bottom, last-to-first. Only Prizefighter seems to break up this convention. Why?

They aren't ordering properly.

Every single PF tournament since this thread was made has been listed with the bouts in reverse chronological order.
Can nothing really be done?

There is a way of doing it.IntentionalButt wrote:Can NOTHING be done, seriously?

I can't edit UK as it's locked.
Re: Prizefighter (UK) Records
Soi only got NZ$10,000 for winning the NZ cruiser comp.

If you reverse the order of the bouts - the bouts are evaluated in wrong order for the ratings - resulting in wrong ratings.AntonS wrote:There is a way of doing it.IntentionalButt wrote:Can NOTHING be done, seriously?

The older bout should have the lower bout_id.
Some time ago I asked John to sort bouts by bout_id when showing them in the records, but he seems to be too busy.
Re: Prizefighter (UK) Records
Can't see how the following suggestion to mexican roadsweeper would affect their rating. ATM, it's the only way it can be done so it's in correct order on their respective record.
You got a bit of work ahead of you, and IMO the best way to handle it is to delete all the bouts. Then insert them in following order:-
Final
Fielding W rtd 1 Webb
Semi Finals
Smyle L ud TBA (Webb)
Ainscough L tko 1 TBA (Fielding)
Quarter Finals
Maxwell L tko 2 TBA (Fielding)
Reed L sd TBA (Ainscough)
Reid L ud TBA (Webb)
Dilks L sd TBA (Smyle)
When done, replace TBA with name.

if you would enter the bouts in the order proposed, the final would be chronologically regarded first for the ratings evaluation, after this the semi finals and then the quarterfinals.
So I ask you not to try to "correct" a known error (currently record displays multiple bouts on one day in wrong order, we know) with another new error (enter bouts in wrong chronological order = the final would have a lower bout_id than the quarter finals have).
We should wait until John corrects the first and original error and will display the bouts in chronological order with bout_id ascending.
So, please, enter the quarter finals first and after this the semi finals and finally the final.
Regards
Martin

When I inserted NZ, It was John that told me how to do it. Best John, Andy & you sort it out.
What would happen if Final was contested over 5 rounds, Semis over 4 & Quarter finals over 3?

I don't know, by what criteria John currently sorts the bouts for record display - but I just sent a PM to John - with you and Andy in CC.AntonS wrote:When I inserted NZ, It was John that told me how to do it. Best John, Andy & you sort it out.

Re: Prizefighter (UK) Records
Don't know, but do know bout duration rule, therefore, 5 rounds would end up at the top, followed by 4s & then 3s - same as in schedulecomputerrank wrote:I don't know, by what criteria John currently sorts the bouts for record display.AntonS wrote:When I inserted NZ, It was John that told me how to do it. Yes, but the record display is done by a different procedure.AntonS wrote:Don't know, but do know scheduled duration rule, therefore, 5 rounds would end up at the top, followed by 4s & then 3s - same as in schedulecomputerrank wrote:I don't know, by what criteria John currently sorts the bouts for record display.AntonS wrote:When I inserted NZ, It was John that told me how to do it. Re: Prizefighter (UK) Records
You could be right. During the week I'll have a play with NZ's. I'll make elimination bouts over 5, semis over 4 & final over 3, then view individual records
Re: Prizefighter (UK) Records
Had a play with finalist Vaitele Soi. 5 rounds changed order on the card, but not on his record.
http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=620606.
However, if inserting all results at same time, there might be a problem?
Let me know when you sight it, so I can change it

unfortunately this doesn't change neither the order of records display nor the order of rating evaluation. We will have to wait for John's response.
Best regards

...and just a reminder, it's like this for the results of every single Prizefighter tournament ever. No exceptions. So dozens, maybe hundreds of bouts are ordered incorrectly.
Re: Prizefighter (UK) Records
Yeah, as said earlier, I too find this very irritating... but at least people here are listening to you and try their best to look into this problem.IntentionalButt wrote:...and just a reminder, it's like this for the results of every single Prizefighter tournament ever. Not at all like over at ESB, where people are simply being ignored by the moderators, even when they have a legitimate complaint!

Like, for instance, when both "Bukkake" and "hhascup" recently had their threads deleated for no apparent reason - and when they ask why, they get no explanation whatsoever.IntentionalButt wrote:Like what sort of complaint?Bundana wrote:Yeah, as said earlier, I too find this very irritating... but at least people here are listening to you and try their best to look into this problem.IntentionalButt wrote:...and just a reminder, it's like this for the results of every single Prizefighter tournament ever.
