His name is Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin, hence Triple G, he who brings excitement to the middleweight division.

It wasn't that exciting; about what I expected, though it lasted slightly longer than I'd thought it would have.

:witzend:  I thought the doctor had to deem you unfit to continue for the fight to be stopped?? A broken nose with no blood and we just give him the title a few rounds early? Was the whistle sound getting to him? Accidental or not, he was fit to continue. If a broken nose makes you unfit to continue Rosado should've been stopped in round one in the previous fight.

What a bs way to omit the championship rounds of a championship fight.

The doctor did deem it. Atleast 3 people had their fingers around his nose as if the visual wasn't enough to see that it was broken. Kind of sucks but it was a headbutt. I don't get why Max was getting all bothered about it though as he was about things all night. It's a little early in your career to start sounding like a disgruntled Merchant, Max. FFS your job is commentating on boxing and you sounded like a bitch all night.

Yeah, not really a fan of that judgement call, although Garcia to his credit offered him a rematch verbally at least if there was any doubt.

Mikey looked damn good though. He always appeared to be in cruise control in most of his other bouts and a guy like Salido was just what he needed to show off more of his arsenal.

He had a huge lead, absolutely no reason to fight with a broken nose for four more rounds and potentially do more harm. Especially because it was caused by a headbutt that could have been called a foul.

I could understand if Salido was really coming on or it was a closer fight but I have no problem with him "bowing" out. 12 more minutes with a broken nose, no thanks, the guy isn't a robot.

There's always someone to complain about something.

How did you all score the Salido-garcia fight, I had it 79-69 at time of stoppage

Robot?? Its a broken nose. Gimme a break man? When have you ever seen a fight stopped for a broken nose(with no blood) for any reason??? Its boxing. Like I said, hell in just the preivous fight, Rosado broke his nose round 1 and the break itself was never an immediate red flag to stop it. Wheres the immediate or long term risk thats keeping him from continuing?

The last two rounds were without a doubt Salidos best rounds. Not to mention Salido gets dropped in most of his wins. Sure he was losing badly on the cards, but you fight twelve rounds because its a twelve round fight. Its not "put on a good show" and then exit whenever it seems like a good time.

So I guess in the ruling is if any accidental foul makes you uncomfortable for the rest of the fight, we can just go to the cards? No vision problems, concussion issues, or loss of blood? Sorry man but that sh*ts weak. Funny how other guys get shit for stopping fights with split open eyelids and broken jaws but this is a non issue

How many times have you seen a headbutt cause the broken nose? He should have fought on if it was caused by a punch. It wasn't, it was caused by an intentional headbutt.

In the Rosado fight it wasn't caused by a dirty headbutt so I don't know why you're trying to compare the two.

Garcia said he was having trouble breathing anyway. That's more than enough to stop the fight.

Not only do I think it was unintentional, it was ruled unintentional. The guy wasn't wincing in pain, he just said it hurt... Unless you're speaking as a Garcia fan, I think you're arguments pretty weak.

It was ruled an accidental butt. The point is that a broken nose was caused by a butt. Garcia was having trouble breathing. Why you bring up GGG/Rosado is beyond me; that was a punch. No different than a cut where a fighter can't see well. Garcia couldn't breathe well.
