I'm John Watson's brother and I want him to fight again, he's been working full time and moving house so he's been busy. After a couple of loses he's undecided what to do, does anybody think he can still win titles, I've watched Gethin and Hamilton win British titles, and think he can do it.. Anyone give any advice on what he's done wrong in his last fights we can Change. Thoughts?

i think john is a good boxer and sometimes starts abit too slow plus likes to mix it even when he is abit shell shocked but thats the instinct of a fighter,its easy for me to say from outside the ring saying you should cover up,if he covers up and gets dropped then there would be an argument of he didnt try but john does try. if i was john i would give it another go after he has got himself settled in his new house. when he beat gethin i thought he should of got a british title shot straight away but i think with setanta and hayemaker folding he didnt get the chance at that time.

ive sparred john loads of time and i think making 9st9lbs took too much out of his body, hes very tall for that weight, fighting at light welter i see him having a good chance against anybody domestically, nice lad too, i hope he comes back, still got loads left to offer

It's up to John. When talking to family "I'm undecided" is often a euphemism for "I don't want to do it but I know how much it means to you lot, so I may force myself to do it anyway".

Ultimately there is only one man who knows the answer to this and that is John himself.
That's not to say he shouldn't listen to those nearest and dearest around him, and make a considered judgment, but John will know if the fire is still burning or not.
If it isn't and John carries on, that's when this sport gets dangerous.
Time for John to be selfish in my opinion, and do what he alone knows.

I do agree with both smart posts! Maybe it is me.. It's just frustrating he didn't win a title, he still wants to do it but for work/training purposes he's taking time out for the minute. Limond v Mcallister is prob guna happen now, I feel he'd beat the both them

I think he has a lot to offer always liked John and he has been unfortunate not win a title I feel so far in his career. That said a rest and move up in weight might be just what is needed. He had a couple of losses all but one against British champions so nothing to be ashamed of. Look at how a break and then a move up in weight has helped Derry Matthews. I think a lot of the time its about the attitude that you enter into these things with.

Losses dont mean much its about picking yourself up and knowingyou are good enough, which he is.
