X2 Duran bought a savagery to the ring that I have never seen since but having said that it was a controlled spiteful savagery

What makes Edwin Viruet so much more difficult to finish than Benny leonard?

its not hard saad, look at the amount of ko and stoppages on durans lightweight card and the fact that he might well have been behind against benny going into the closing rounds - unlike viruet - this is how its worked out that duran wins by late ko against leonard..duh!

I'm quite aware of Duran's "card", he's one of my favorite fighters. Being behind isn't going to help him any. Highly unlikely it ends before the judges give their call. If you think he was coasting against Viruet, I'd switch from the card to the video.

wow! so fighters that are behind on points always lose - thats a clever statement from someone who is supposedly interested in sport. duran - your favourite fighter - might disagree with you though

I never said anything of the sort, I said Duran is unlikely to stop Leonard late in a fight regardless of the scorecards. If you can't handle a discussion with the actual content, you're better off shutting your pie hole. :TU:

calm down dear!! you think duran would be unlikely to stop BL after being outboxed for the majority of the fight, ok - i think duran gets to him late on...its a theoretical argument. :TU:

I'm quite calm, buttercup. The ''argument'' has thus far consisted of you getting your panties twisted in a knot and inventing things that I never said. Typical behavior by someone with nothing better to offer.

I don't know as much about Langford as I do about Greb, but Greb has the most impressive resume of any boxer imo

I'll tell you this about Langford, he beat ATG fighters from Lightweight to Heavyweight.

If he was modern, his ledger is akin to having wins over Duran at 35, Leonard at 47, Hagler at 60, Spinks at 75 @ Witherspoon at Heavyweight.

I agree with the greatness of the guys you are pushing.
Although, at lightweight:
Gans is probably a good match for Duran, but he did struggle to better Blackburn and Holly.
Walcott is probably the best match for Leonard, but Langford did only draw twith him (from memory)
I think Young Peter Jackson is probably the best match for Hagler and Langford was dominant against him. Ketchell might be a better call. I am not sure of the weights and it was a ND designed to build a return match, so it doesnt say as much as youd think.
Langford never really campained at light heavy from what i can tell. Philadelphia Jack O Brien probably is the closest to Spinks, i guess, but it is worth noting that Langford was above the limit when they fought.
At Heavy, he virtually beat everyone outside of Johnson which is the same as beating all except Tyson.

The strange thing i guess is that he is ranked at the pinnacle for his weight jumping, yet he was more dominant at the higher weights than the lower weights. quite strange really.

Langford's record is unreal:
14 Fights with Joe Jeanette going 8-2-4 (1)
15 Fights with Sam McVea going 7-2-6 (1)
17 Fights with Harry Wills going 2-13-2 (2), Wills is considered the #1 fighter Dempsey should've fought during his reign.

Also 2 Knockout wins over George Godfrey, A 2nd round KO over defensive specialist Tiger Flowers, A 6 round decision victory over Stanley Ketchel, A 15 round points victory over Lightweight Legend Joe Gans, and a draw with Welterweight hall of famer Joe Walcott.

Plus an assload more fights. Talk about rivalries, people talk about Pacquiao vs Marquez fighting too much, fighting 4 times...Langford has 46 fights with just McVea, Jeanette and Wills alone.

How the heck could a guy standing only 5 ft 7 in be competitive and even beat good fighters well over 6 ft tall? How was This Great able to carry his greatness up so many weights ? Imagine if he would have been around during different times and didn't have to fight so many tough guys so often
