Stephane Jamoye v Ashley Sexton - EBU bantam title

Post by turbostar »

On 9 March in Belgium.

Very poor fight, I give Sexton no chance. He shouldn't be anywhere near a Euro title shot, struggled against a Latvian journeyman yesterday night.

Jamoye is a few levels above Sexton. This should be over in the mid-rounds if not earlier. Just shows how poor the EBU have gone when fighters with a record like Sextons can get a shot.

I have a sneaky feeling that Sexton will upset the applecart and he will come back with the EBU championship around his waist.

I have a feeling that he won't based on how poor he's been over the past 2 years compared to Jamoye.

Sexton should get wrecked here, if recent form is anything to go by.

I have a very strong feeling that he wont. Saw Jamoye in Doncaster from ringside and he was very good. Stopping Haskins is no mean feat, either. In fact, i have a feeling Sexton is getting beat up.

Jamoye is a very under-rated fighter. Look at who he's been in with and it's impressive for someone so young.

Yeah cracking fight and Haskins is a level above Sexton. Sexton will have to go for it early. He won't outlast or outbox Jamoye.

Sexton doesn't deserve the shot but fair play to him, he's taken the bull by the horns and taken his opportunity to get himself back into meaningful fights. He should be praised for this.

Doesn't mean I think he'll win though, Jamoye is a cracking wee fighter, but he's taken hard fights on the road as well, it would be wrong to praise one for this and not the other.

That said Jamoye all day long for me. The EBU need a few questions asked about sanctioning this but what governing body is guilt free on this front?

Bizarre call by the EBU. Good luck to Sexton, he's going to need it, Jamoye has only ever lost to quality and Sexton doesnt fall into that category in my opinion. Does he still fight with his mouth wide open? saw him do that previosuly and it's just an accident waiting to happen.

Praised for this, why?Obviously hes getting paid well..i dont blame him for taking the shot, but beaten euro journeymen dosent warrent a shot. I used to rate the Euro title, but this proves its going downhill, give it a few years&it will go the same way as the commenwealth belt...

It's a voluntary defence, I don't see anything wrong with the EBU allowing it.

Oh, most of us will be wanting him to win, I expect.

Doesn't change the fact that he's really up against it.

Good luck to the lad :TU:

He weighted i Super Feather weight the other night and Light weight the fight before that... Not to slag him about the a warren at the EBU coz i'd jump at the Chance but you lot are right How did he get the shot. Jamoye is Strong he proved this by beating a Tough Strong Haskins imo this will be a early night....
