Tim-beeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr!

Nice mate, long heard about it, never seen it. Thanks.

I take it this was pre-steroids? As in, before he got busted for steroids & thrown off the Ukrainian Olympic team?

PS: His stance is the same for boxing, it's fvcking awful & anyone who can't see he never ever learned to box properly, just relied on the height & reach is a Klit-Fanboy.

PPS: a prime Lenny (& probably a prime Bowe, for all his flaws; fvck me Tim Witherspoon? Maybe...) would've beaten the ever-living shit of him.

Conceptions vary.

I'm curious about what constitutes proper boxing to those who don't think that Vitali learned to box properly.

His stance was shocking for kickboxing open to that kick all day.. Very bad kickboxing fight to be fair and for people to go on about Lewis Schooling him.. They thought and to be fair it was the other way about... Proven to be the best heavyweight if the last decade.. How did Pele Reid get on??

I think no doubt he is/was the best heavyweight now that may be down to his size but so be it... That fight with Pele Reid looks like its light continuous so not even full contact.. It wasnt a knockout as no count was given. Arguable Pele Reid should have been disqualified for excessive force.. Vitali's style is awkward and not very nice to watch but he is effective and no matter how big a Lennox Lewis fan anyone is he was getting beat up by Vitali.. Apart from 2 cuts Vitali has looked unbeatable as a pro and should go down as a great heavyweight.. I don't like either klitscho but that is my honest opinion

It's debatable whether he was the best, but I don't see why his size hurts his claim to that position; size can contribute to one's being the best heavyweight if pound for pound appraisals are excluded.

Also, Vitali has enjoyed tremendous success for reasons other than his size, as a quick browse through the boxrec database shows that being 6'7" doesn't ensure such success.

It was probably moved from the "Current Scene" because it's a kickboxing match that occured 21 years ago, though I can see how it could be related to more recent issues.

I've read a little bit about Vitali's kick boxing, boxing stance. Apparently it bad for true power punching but really awkward to fight against. Lets be honest the guy is a handful for anyone including a peak Lennox. I think Lewis would have got there but it would be his hardest fight.

The video has been taken off You Tube for copy right infrigement :(

Even in my prime his 1ft height advantage may have proved too much

Other than that I totally agree

Agreed. Height can be a major disadvantage. It's not all too long ago (fewer than 15 years) that guys like Manny Steward were saying there'd never be a heavyweight champion in excess of 6'6" due to coordination issues. Whilst Valuev initially proved them wrong with careful matchmaking, the Klitschkos have done the job for real. Generally, though, really tall guys often have all sorts of coordination, leverage and application of power issues. That's one of the reasons I've always been so impressed with Peter Crouch and, obviously, the NBA lads that aren't just jump & dunk merchants are freaky genetic wonders.
