Middleweights: Julian Jackson vs Jake LaMotta
What you guys think of this fight? Big puncher vs Great chin. Who wins?
Re: Middleweights: Julian Jackson vs Jake LaMotta
Lamotta takes Jackson's best shots and stops him late or wins a wide decision.
Re: Middleweights: Julian Jackson vs Jake LaMotta
Much respect to Jackson, but LaMotta knocks him out late.
Re: Middleweights: Julian Jackson vs Jake LaMotta
Jackson would never be the same after this fight. LaMotta would ruin him.

Hmm, not sure anybody takes his best shots...he's got a punchers chance, but I'm guessing it's Lamotta's fight barring any seriously nuclear moment.gilgamesh wrote:Lamotta takes Jackson's best shots and stops him late or wins a wide decision.

Jackson undoubtedly had that one punch "eraser" type power, but I think Lamotta could take it anyway. Aside from that, Lamotta would be all over him, rarely giving him room to punch or time to breathe.BoxBuzz wrote:Hmm, not sure anybody takes his best shots...he's got a punchers chance, but I'm guessing it's Lamotta's fight barring any seriously nuclear moment.gilgamesh wrote:Lamotta takes Jackson's best shots and stops him late or wins a wide decision.

Lamotta wins. Off of skill. Doubt Lamotta could take his best shots but he was definitely the better boxer .

LaMotta took the best shots from one of the hardest hitting 168/175 pounders of all time in Bob Satterfield. I'm quite certain he could take Jackson's punches, and this is coming from someone who really rates Jackson as a puncher. McClellan took them, after all.

Yep, like I said, barring a nuclear moment. It's an outside puncher's chance only. But it's a chance never the less.

No contest, LaMotta would mutilate him. Jackson's power wasn't the same at 60.

Cripes I was sleepin' I'm just waking up to the weight issue......that "chance" just withered from "fat or slim" to none, in my estimation.
