116-111 seems too wide. Sturm not complaining. Said he was ahead for the first two thirds of the fight, but admits Soliman had more in the tank for the last third.
Buffer.
"And the winner 'aus Deutschland' is (the crowd goes nuts)..... no wait.....the winner is Soliman, Soliman from Australia. Once more, the winner is Soliman".

It's really strange. In the last year or so every Sturm-promoted fighter (not only Felix himself) has lost every close fight.
Sturm now losing a fight I gave to him, Kentikian losing two fights I gave her. Really strange.
edit: Sorry for all the typos guys. I shouldn't write in a foreign language while I'm excited.
It is weird. Karma's a bitch. I can think of at least three fights when I thought Sturm lost and he got the decision at home, but I thought he clearly outpointed Murray and only got a draw.
WTF??? Tyc Sports had Sturm 10-2 i had him 8-4... even Buffer thought he won... Soliman didnt win 7 rounds... 9-3 card was the worst card i remember since Martinez Williams 1. Im kinda overreacting though, but this wasn´t close... Soliman ate punches all fight CLEAN, and sturm only in two rounds...
Soliman didnt win the last round either, in fact i think he was pretty hurt!
Just saw the fight about 5 hours ago, after having avoided hearing details of the fight to that point. Here's my card:
1. Sturm, toss-up
2. Sturm, 10-8
3. Sturm, clear
4. Sturm, clear
5. Soliman, toss-up
6. Sturm, clear
7. Soliman, toss-up
8. Soliman, toss-up
9. Soliman, clear
10. Sturm, clear
11. Soliman, clear
12. Sturm, toss-up.
So that's 115-112 Sturm for me. If you give all the toss-ups to the same guy, it's either 114-113 Soliman or 118-109 Sturm. So maybe just barely not a robbery, but it sure felt like one. The idea of a fight that was only sort of close being given to the wrong guy by UD in the other guy's backyard is pretty hard to explain.
The way the judging has shifted against Sturm recently, you almost wonder if he used to bribe them but decided to stop and left the judges feeling slighted.
I think I'm more happy for Sturm now than I was irritated at him a couple years ago. He clearly still has what it takes to be at or around the top of the division. Soliman was on drugs and wasn't chopped liver to begin with, and he pretty clearly beat him. Geale was the no-doubt #1 contender, and that fight was a complete toss-up. For me, it makes the Macklin and Murray controversies a fairly distant memory.

Assuming the B sample also comes back positive:
I'm not happy for Sturm (that he'll be back).
I am happy that a result marred by a failed drug test will not harm Sturm.
I am no Sturm fan, but I believe in fairness, and fighting an opponent who's tested positive for a banned substance does not constitute a fair fight.
