The 25 year-old Colombian - Ricardo Cardona at 21-4-1 (13 KO's) - was the #5 WBA-ranked Challenger,
and was a 3-1 Underdog. He also was a stable-mate of Antonio 'Kid Pambele' Cervantes.

The 5' 8" Challenger cut the Champion Soo-Hwan Hong over his left eye in the 3rd-Round with a long right-hand, and
later in the Round closed the eye with a another hard right hand.

Ricardo 'floored' the Champion in the 4th-Round with a pin-point right-hand to the chin.

The Champion - was battered badly in Rounds 9, 10, 11 and early in Round 12.
At the (1:23 Mark) of Round 12, the Champion told Referee - Tony Perez he could not continue, where
it was halted as a TKO 12.

* Referee - Tony Perez........109-101 (Ricardo Cardona)
* Judge - Jesus Celis...........109-101 (Ricardo Cardona)
* Judge - Kim-Kwang Soo....107-106 (Ricardo Cardona)

According to the Associated Press (109-101 Scorecard), the Champion won 'only' Round 1, and fought
'Even' in Rounds 2 and 5.
