Victor Ortiz was a 'Live Underdog' at 2-1 Betting-Odds.

The 24 year-old, with a record of 25-6-0 (11 KO's) was a non-stop aggressive fighter,
with decent power. He boxed out of the popular 'National Gym' in Puerto Rico.

Victor was ranked as the #5 WBA Light-Welteweight. The thought here was, that if
Victor Ortiz could 'upset' Antonio Cervantes, a bout with WBA Lightweight Champion
Roberto Duran would be 'next'.

Antonio Cervantes had none of that, and dropped Victor at (0:50) of the 1st-Round with a
left hook. He also dropped Victor at (2:37) of the 1st-Round with a short right hand.
Victor had to be helped back to his corner at the end of Round 1.

In Round 2, Antonio let Victor pound away for (2:33), before finishing him off with one
crushing left hook. Victor Ortiz was counted out a 2:45 of Round 2.

Fight Purses,
Antonio Cervantes......$65,000
Victor Ortiz...............$10,000

** WBA - Antonio 'Kid Pambele' Cervantes
vs.
#1 WBA - Tongta 'The Thai Bomber' Kiatvayupakdi ` 27-1-0 (22 KO's)

The 24 year-old Thai Bomber (real name; Kirvsyupak Tongtas), is a stable-mate of WBC Light-Welterweight
Champion - Saensak Muangsurin.

The 5' 8" lanky Tongta, comes out winging in his southpaw style, and pressures the Champion well in Round 1.

In Round 2, Tongta buckled Cervantes over, when he landed a vicious left hook to the body.

But, the 5' 9" Champion took command in Round 3, and worked his left hand overtime. By Round 6, the
Challenger was getting battered pretty good. Cervantes landed several hard left hooks and straight
rights in Round 6, and Tongta fell to the canvas to be counted out at 2:30 by Referee - Jesus Celis.

Antonio Cervantes received a fight purse of...........$112,500.
Tongta Kiatvayupakdi received a fight purse of.......$37,500.
Fight Promoter; Lope Sarreal
The time I got was 2:40; sometimes those times can conflict.
