Aye flaws, for sure. But it must take a fair bit to impress you then. I say he's the best in Europe.

Martin Lindsay is no mug but Selby absolutely dominated him and made it look like he was coasting. If he'd stepped on the gas earlier he would have stopped Linsday. He looks like he's got another gear or two. I do think he's more than ready to step up but Sanigar mentioned they wanted him to win a lonsdale outright. Nothing wrong with that; he just needs one more defence. Incidentally the lad who beat Selby won a British title eliminator in his last fight and is still unbeaten. Might as well get revenge then move onto Europe.

The european featherweight champion also won tonight with 12th round stoppage of Andreas Evensen who may remember went twelve with Burns at superfeather for the WBO title. Bright future ahead of him for sure.

Liked selby alot the first time I saw him, like him even more now, he needs to be careful when he looks for his uppercuts as he leans over leaving his chin exposed some times, but his great to watch ! And fit as a fiddle :TU:

Selby has a kryponite moustache.

Like Samson, if he shaves that gangsta bum fluff off, his super powers would deflate quicker than a puffa jacket on a bonfire.

selby is a beast! thought he was brilliant last night, but props to martin lindsey, he took a beating but took it like a man and never looked for a way out once, selby can go all the way imo, big, strong, good reflexes, nice jab, good body puncher, good reflexes, and hes young and improving all the time, i really like this kid :TU:

Thought he was very good, i'm not as impressed as others are though. Can do without the Naz shoulder wobbles and mugging too, Lindsay didn't ask for any of that.

His defence his so porous. People don't turn defence on and off because of who they are fighting. Can anyone give any examples of fighters who have looked porous against non punchers and suddenly defensively savvy against bangers?

Guarantee if he was in there with Gamboa he would still have his hands down.

We don't have many fighters with that kind of crispness in their jab and quick foot movement. At times he looked very good. Still think he shipped a few too many unnecessary shots. He seems to have learnt from his time in the Mayweather gym which I'm sure included some good sparring with a host of decent americans.

This is true. But, for once, I prefer to focus on the many good things rather than the one bad one. Then again, it is a bad un. But his good stuff is very good...

Selby looks to have a decent chin, i know lindsay isn't a puncher, but Selby didn't even blink when hit.

Whilst i would prefer he tightened that defence up, Carl Froch has gone a long way without Selby's speed or variety, so i think we need to wait and see.

I remember Marcus McDonnell in the final round giving Lee Selby a stern word or two about he regarded very disrespectul showboating by Selby last night, away from that I was quite impressed by Selby as he has got very quick hands an accurate left jab and switched very effectively between the head and body to keep Martin Lindsay a tough and game former British champion at longish range, but I do feel that Selby could have stepped the pressure when he could see that his body shots were sapping the life out of Lindsay.

There are many adjectives to describe this kid but the one that made me laugh was "humble" - sorry johnnyyorks.
I think he will divide the masses.
I also think people will buy tickets to watch him fight - but to hope he loses, as much as those that want to see him win.
My major concern would be his defensive work - even his corner were on to him about it between rounds.
Sensible thing is to get the Lonsdale secured before stepping up. Glad to hear Chris talking about taking the traditional route, I like that.
Looking forward to seeing how his career maps out over the next 18 months.
We may have an international star on our hands - but the jury's out for me.

Looking forward to see that as he beat Khalid Yafai who's looked great as a pro. Shocked that he's still an amateur at 24 - Sheffield prospects seem to turn over ASAP!

I thought Lee Selby looked great but think he should leave the British now and move up in class.

No disrespect, but I was unaware that he'd ducked out of the European. What was the story with that?

to me selbys defence got worse as the fight went on, i think it was just a case of him finding it way too easy and switching off, i think some defensive things he did were excellent, but when he switched off he got hit with left hooks, i think when he has a bit more fear of the man in front of him he will be better defensivley,

yeah me too, he was casual at times. There's a quality to him that makes you think he can compete at world level. power, durability, technique, self confidence.

He really made me sit up and take notice when he beat smith, looks like he can really move on in class now. Showed last night he has flaws but this also showed that he can take a shot.
