'Macklin is a tit' says an irritated Martin Murray

I don't know if you saw last week's Ringside but neither Murray nor Barker exactly warmed to Macklin, who was on the phone. Macklin basically said neither of them feature in his plans as he's doing well for himself in the States. He'll continue to do so if he fights Andy Lee in May.

I have to agree with Murray, I personally find macklin abit of a tit too ! I think he is limited at world level and hope Murray or barker fight/beat him !
However ! Macklin is thinking of himself and who can blame him ?

Re: 'Macklin is a tit' says an irritated Martin Murray
To be fair to Macklin, regarding his career, he's got a good little thing going in America with the Irish/New York thing and due to his fan-friendly style. So he doesn't technically 'need' Barker or Murray. Although British fans would love to see those fights.

Spot on. Barker and Murray both need Macklin more than the opposite although Murray can make a name for himself in Argentina. Barker has really been a non-entity since losing to Martinez and is badmouthing Macklin to get gimself noticed again. Macklin has created a big fan base in the States with the Irish/Irish-Americans. In a nice little perfect world we would all love to see Barker vs. Lee, Murray vs. Macklin and the winners to fight each other.winkveron wrote:To be fair to Macklin, regarding his career, he's got a good little thing going in America with the Irish/New York thing and due to his fan-friendly style. It was a bit much for Barker to accuse Macklin of depriving the fans of the domestic fight, as he pointed out it was Barker who pulled out at short-notice for the Magnificent Seven show!! And did he not vacate the British when Murray was mandatory?!
Who was Murray ever beaten?
Who was Murray ever beaten?
Re: 'Macklin is a tit' says an irritated Martin Murray
Barker and Murray should just get it on with one another and not even take any notice of Macklin at this stage.
I can only think that Barker and more particularly Murray's negative interest in Macklin is jealously at his modest success in America and/or they feel that they need him to generate a big money domestic fight.
If that wasn't the case, then surely Barker and Murray wouldn't even mention Macklin and would simply get on with arranging a fight between themselves?

On ringside Barker said he wasn't interested in nit picking and slanging matches. He had genuine injuries for his pull outs and Macklin said as much when they had signed to fight.
Macklin was insinuating he was give them and he made a decent niche for himself over in Yankee land and good luck to him ( the accent is becoming more Irish when needed which is cringeworthy but he is playing the game and that means more $$$ )
If Murray can do the impossible and beat Martinez then I suspect Macklin might not see himself as being above him then!!!

i dont think martinez is that great, barker has never really proved he is better than european level and he gave martinez a lot of trouble until the later rounds. Murray is skilful and durable maybe thats enough.lillywhite14 wrote:On ringside Barker said he wasn't interested in nit picking and slanging matches. Yes. After Martinez beats Murray, that will be all three who have failed at World level yet we have one claiming he sold out MSG(he did not) and the other claiming they are some sort of latter day Eubank-Benn(they are not).bigh wrote:Anyone getting bored of hearing about macklin murray and barker???

The fact Murrays even contemplating debating stuff with Barker and Murray means he knows he gonna get beat by Martinez

Their rivalry is so so far from Eubank Benn Collins Watson etc it is untrue
Re: 'Macklin is a tit' says an irritated Martin Murray
Sounds like Murray is bitter that Macklin is fighting in the States and he never will.
Re: 'Macklin is a tit' says an irritated Martin Murray
i'm not bored at all, its not like they are in our faces every week of every month (like some others are) and also, why the negativity towards them? can't we just get behind Murray for instance in his big fight?danconnollyeire wrote:It's like 3 birds all shagging the same bloke and bitching that they were his best fvck hahamickey1975 wrote:Yes. i think it would be a great 3 way comp and i reckon the fights would be good
Re: 'Macklin is a tit' says an irritated Martin Murray
This is a great rivalry.
I like Macklin to watch and the most gifted. I think Murray is a serious hardcase. But feel Barker is the best of them. If he can stay injury free.
