I wouldnt expect anything less, this is a fantastic opportunity for Gavin.

I would love to see him pull it off but I fear Broner will just have too much for him on the night.

Gavin Rees weighs in at 134.5 and Broner at 134.

Anybody pick up on what Adrien Broner was saying to Gavin during face off?

Rees looked cool and calm even when Broner was whispering to him, didn't look fazed at all. I'd love to know what Broner was saying though!

No, I didn't catch it though it seemed like Rees said something at the end which made a few in the audience laugh, no idea what though.

Sometimes you can tell when a fighter is nervous but Rees really didn't seem bothered by anything, got to be a good sign.

Off topic but does anyone know what the purse bid for this fight was?

I believe that purse bids are only for bouts that are ordered by the relevant sanctioning body.

Rees is reportedly making at least $100k USD, which is roughly 65k pounds, while Broner will likely make several times more than that based on his previous purses.

I'm assuming before.

The article I extracted the information from stated that Rees will make six figures. It was an article published on a British site, but I'm not sure if they meant six figues in USD or pounds. Eddie Hearn called it 'life-changing money,' so Rees could be making significantly more than the 100k/65k lower limit.

I think you'll be right on the money with £65k after tax; maybe a bit more at £75k. Eddie as a typical promoter will be saying to Gavin that it is life changing money in the context that if he wins he has beaten the best lightweight in the world at the moment and he will be the man in control of his own destiny re future purses; only if he wins though!

Not sure where you heard this but rees is making 200,000 English. Broner about 2 and half times that. Like Eddie Hearn said Gavin is earning a life changing sum of money 65k is most certainly not.
