ok.......... modern rules applied for the first 6 rounds.....old rules for the last half

OK, Byrd outboxes him for the first six rounds, but since Byrd doesn't punch very hard he is not able to have any real affect on Broughton, who also uses a lot of clinching and wrestling tactics to avoid the quick fisted Byrd. In the seventh, Broughton throws Byrd with a hip toss, landing heavily on Byrd as he falls. Byrd then quits.
