After reading the piece posted by Boxrec News - I seriously hope he doesn't hold any bitterness over Gary Lockett's decision to pull him out resulting in him leaving Lockett. Lockett did the right thing.
I would say the obvious choice will be Burns.
What next for Rees

He would be stupid to leave Lockett for that reason, In my opinion the timing was perfect. There was no reason for him to continue.
Re: What next for Rees
I read Lockett wanted to pull Rees out after the third round.Duffus91 wrote:After reading the piece posted by Boxrec News - I seriously hope he doesn't hold any bitterness over Gary Lockett's decision to pull him out resulting in him leaving Lockett. Lockett did the right thing.

Re: What next for Rees
As much as Rees showed a big heart and lots of tenacity , the bottom line is he took a beating ( albeit off a potentially great fighter). How does taking a beating earn him a shot at burns if indeed burns beats Vasquez .the gulf at the moment between Rees and burns is huge and if burns beats Vasquez it wil be even bigger!

I agree. Rees has to pick up some wins before a fight against Burns is credible.cutthecacklebullyup wrote:As much as Rees showed a big heart and lots of tenacity , the bottom line is he took a beating ( albeit off a potentially great fighter). In what sense is Matchrooms Gavin Rees fighting Warrens Ricky Burns the obvious choice? It strikes me as exactly the opposite.Duffus91 wrote:After reading the piece posted by Boxrec News - I seriously hope he doesn't hold any bitterness over Gary Lockett's decision to pull him out resulting in him leaving Lockett.
