Will Price beat Thompson quicker than wlad?
Will Price beat Thompson quicker than wlad?
I wonder if Price will try to beat Tony the Tiger quicker than Wlad did last July? The more i see of Price the more explosive i think his power is. Wlad hits as hard, if not harder, but is far more gunshy than David is. Wlad wants to work his way in behind the jab, sometimes not throwing the right for a few rounds.
Can see Price inside 4, quite feasibly.

i think price in 5

In the second go with Wlad Thompson looked like a guy anxious for it to be over and was scoping out the best place to lay down.

You've got to wonder how much ambition Thompson has left. He'll be the best opponent Price has faced, is southpaw and has nice skills. Wlad is the only guy to have put him on the deck so his chin is good. However, once Price lands a couple of bombs you have to wonder how much Thompson will want to be there. Having said that Thompson is way more experieced than Price so Price may well be cautious for the first few rounds staying away from any of Thompson's own big shots.
I can see Price winning every round with a stoppage around 7

I'm looking forward to this one. Should give us a bit more info about Pricey and just how much he has got. He could do with a test.
Hopefully Thompson has a bit left and comes to the ring with ambition.

I think price is the hardest hitter in the heavyweight division if he connects cleanly anyone will go down. Wladimir K is a very clever fighter but doesn't like to to take risks these days and is happy to grind out a win. So i think Proce will stop thompson around round five though given the step up in class for price its not a prediction i would back with any money.

Great matchmaking this one.
There will only be one winner (and it won't be anyone who has shelled out for a ticket).

Big compliment to Pricey from Lennox here.
As for the Thompson fight I think Price will end this within 6 rounds. He hits too hard and is way too big for Thompson. A quick finish would send a real statement out as well given the fact that Wlad did not find it easy to stop Thompson.

30-something "prospect" who has feasted on fat old men & never-weres (on the world stage, like) versus... A fat old man & never-was (on the world stage, like) who has a couple of wins over properly live opposition... Er, in the latter half of the last decade. Just.
Add to that Thompson's less-than-stimulating style (has anyone ever watched him fight & actually stayed awake? I remember Lewis saying something similar about Audley when he was still in "prospect" territory.SteveDow wrote:http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/gene ... 98211.html

This match up is the first real major test of David Price's creditentials as a future heavyweight star since he turned professional in 2008 so looking to make a clear statement of intent that he is a genuine force to be reckon in boxing's top division in the post Klitchsko era and by delivering a strong performance against Tony Thompson a two time world title challenger. He does not have to go and bom out, he has just got to box sensibly use his physical advantages in terms of youth, size and power over Thompson and he will get the win.
