Not that surprised, alot of boxers switch trainers after a loss. Booth isn't the best trainer IMO, but he seems to connect with boxers and gets them in good shape.

Booth is starting to get a nice little stable with Haye, Groves, Andy Lee and now Mitchell.

Always quite liked him as a tactician. Whilst it didn't come off against Wlad for Haye, his gameplan for Groves against DeGale was impressive.

Would say Lee and Mitchell are damaged goods at mo, I wasn't impressed with Lee's comeback a couple of weeks ago, and Mitchell has to prove himself all again.

There was also Selcuk Aydin who Booth trained for his last fight, a loss to Jesus Soto Karass.
Haye may not fight again, Groves is the lead act in the place now unless Haye does get his gloves on again.

I thought Lee looked average the other week and already showing traits of the low lead hand that Haye and Groves love to employ. Can't see this being a great move for Kevin Mitchell.

Where did this news break? I haven't heard of this. I know Jessi on here thought he saw a cabbie droping him off to the Haye gym but then said he was with Jimmy Tibbs and it was to do with something else.....

Not sure if this will work for Kevin...bad move

This is a well worn path= after a defeat change trainers coz it was all their fault etc but at the end of the day the trainer is as only as good as the Boxer IMO

Agreed. Ricky Hatton and Billy Graham is the obvious example.

Best of luck to him - if he can make Super Featherweight again he could get back on top. Too small for Lightweight.

The only confusing thing in all this for me is that he was with Jimmy tibbs when he went to Adam booths gym ! Is that tibbs being a father figure for him or something else ?

Did he? Surprising move really, you would have thought it was the ideal set up gym and trainer close to home.

Then maybe FW has told him time to move on as Mitchell has been well looked after from his side

I don't know much of Logan apart from he used to box has he trained anyone of note?
Tibbs has done it all.

Mark said that in the interview; neither Jimmy Tibbs or Kevin said anything about it.

Just an update, I asked Adam booth if he was the new trainer of Kevin Mitchell at York hall last Saturday and he said "NO" !
So I assume Mitchell is still with tibbs and hopefully fighting as reported before end of April/may time :TU:

Its a damn shame what has happened to Kevin Mitchell's career. Probably self inflicted but what do - know.

I love watching him, he's classy and clever but he has seemed to have lost his way.

Best of luck to him.
