What Happened to Ray "Sonny" Schlamp?
Ray "Sonny" Schlamp aka "Dutch" Schlamp was a highly touted lightweight/welterweight between 1960-1964. He was 16-0-0, 16 KOs and an AAU Lightweight Champ as an amateur, and 17-0-0, 17 KOs as a pro. Former heavyweight Champ Jack Dempsey supported his career in 1962. Suddenly he quit boxing in 1964. Does anyone know what happened to him and why he stopped fighting?
