Thompson Price weigh-in

Post by JC »

Anyone watch the live stream for this?

Only managed to get it working just as the were announcing Thompson's weight. But did I hear 18st 10lbs?

If so he'll surely be in pretty bad shape and it could be over quick.

Price is the ultimate professional...He will probably deal with this guy in his usual classy manner.

Price is the real deal!

Seems like Thompson is just happy to get one last check, with his career high weight of 262.

Price looked in fantastic shape there. Looked broader and more defined than ever. Shocking from Thompson. I see Pricey blitzing him out of there in quick fashion. :bag:

Just looking at Thompson's previous weights, this is a career high on the scales.

It maybe deliberate to try and get him through the initial onslaught and to take Price longer than normal to see if he blows up, but if so he's just clasping at straws

I will probably fall asleep after 20 seconds. I'm a big Price fan, not he's fault, but every fight lately is the other guy prouncing around the ring for 10 seconds until Price pins then in a corner and hits them once or twice and game over. Pretty boring stuff. This won't be much different

Picture on that video was like it was filmed with a 1950's kodak.

It was a big black shape followed by a big white shape.

I know weight isn't everything, but 33 year old Kingpin Johnson weighed his lightest for over 5 years against Fury and was coming off an impressive KO win against Alex Lepai in his last full fight.

On the other hand 41 year old Thompson has weighed in at a career heaviest by some distance, was KOd in his last fight and keeps mentioning 'retirement'.

You do the math :TU:

I assumed it was some fan on a mobile but it was uploaded by Maloney's YT account, shocking picture, I could do better with my phone.

Still never get the point of weigh ins for heavies.
I love it. It's a big part of the build up and it gives them a chance to see the whites of each others eyes before the fight. It's also handy if your betting on the fight to see what shape either guy is in, which you can't always tell from just hearing what they've weighed in at.

Yeah not a big fan of Price's ring walk thing with the drummers. Nothing against the army, it just feels a bit awkward and out of place to me.

Maloney has always been a fan of that sort of Rule Brittania thing though hasn't he.

Can't knock him for the high viz's for Rendall Munroe's fights though, that was a good en haha.

I know they're heavyweights but it's nice to see Richard Jones has learnt by his mistakes and decided to put the scales on thick shagpile carpet AGAIN!

Price should smash him inside 3 I reckon.

Is it common these days to use cheap bathroom scales at weighins? Don't think I've seen it before, looks ridiculous

They look like digital electronic platform scales which a widely used these days. Did the Undercard weigh-in the same time and place?

What channel is this on? Just setting the box to record Prizefighter tonight, but see no mention of Price, not even on Eurosport?
