There has been a ton of hype about Price, what happened had to happen sooner or later - It
has happened to Audley Harrison often enough on here but no-one says anything on those terms
about his feelings and dreams.

I am surprised so many on here have hyped him to the degree - but then again I hyped
Audley and people were saying I didn't know what I was talking about so it happens - its
a fornicating boxing forum!

I wish Price all the best with the rest of his career. The hype train now can choo choo off to
where it came from.

I don't think there has been as much hype as you're making out, mate, and Price himself has always been humble and unassuming. He got clipped with a shot that did his equilibrium, he was knocked off balance, he was not knocked out; there is a difference, as I'm sure you'll know, That's not say he's got a good chin, it's just to put things back in perspective. I hope David has a bit of a break and then gets back in the gym and learns from this. His vulnerability adds to the attraction.

Yes, it is not the end of his career, he has power, he is very strong, I can't see a change in
style ala Wlad will be any help because he doesn't have Wlads speed, defence and skillset along with the counterpunching skills but he can carry on. He might get more work in Germany - it might get him to a quicker route to a title shot against someone like Povetkin. It might jump start him into more activity, who knows - I don't think you can plan anything long term but it looks like he can be like Errol Christie - anything can happen when he steps into a ring. It wasn't the end for him when he was chinned by Jose Seys but you could see the writing on the wall. With Price - the future is a bit more brighter than that because he can punch.

As for the hype on here - it was shocking - talk of being a long term title holder and KOing Wlad - anyway - all that nonsense can cease.

It was some of the comments directed at Fury that surprised me the most, Fury whatever you think of him personally has so far beaten better fighters at a higher level and people were calling him a coward for it. I bet he wished he'd have signed for that fight though, it's going to take a few fights to get the interest and money back in that fight. A world title would do it, I suppose.

There were more than a few who wanted the Price bout and believed that Fury would have beaten him in good order. I get it wrong a ton of times, this one was a no-brainer - I remember my dad giving me this talk when Bruno got KO'd off Bonecrusher Smith and Tim Witherspoon - history repeats itself in boxing more than it does in real life.

Price would get KO'd soon - I never thought Thompson would have done what he did to Price and in the manner that he did. Which was compounded with the shape and weight he was at the weigh in. I thought he would have got derailed by a Travis Walker or Alex Leapai type which probably would have been his next bout.

Walker but Walker would have been massively wrong for Price. Styles make fights.
Then again - with a Price vs Walker fight it would be who lands first and 'bombs

Because when fighters are undefeated, people want to believe they are superhuman. Look at the crap you here with Floyd, Broner etc. Floyd has been doing it a long time I know, but watch the reaction if he loses.

It's also different posters posting different things. When a fighter is winning his fans are loud, and his critics are quiet. When he's losing it's the other way round.

I said last week this would happen to Price or Fury sooner or later. Don't sit on a big fight hoping to keep on hyping it. Boxing is far to unpredictable. Just get it made and build hype from the fight itself.
