I like Mares but he didn't do enough at 118 to prove that he'd have enough to handle Rafa, for me.
It'd be a good fight tho and Mares would push him, no doubt.

Every day of the week & twice on Sundays. Technically at least as good, with a beautiful jab that would pose Mares all sorts of problems; not as busy but a much, much bigger hitter. & despite Rafa's vulnerability to a heavy puncher I don't think Mares could hurt him, to be honest.
