Sahaprom/Marquez.

Post by Rover »

Sahaprom had already been around quite a while by the time Rafa became champ. Had they fought in, say, 04 or 05 (Sahaprom lost early that year to Hasegawa), I'd have taken Rafa.
Prime for prime, pickem fight upon which I haven't quite decided.

Have a lot of respect for Sahaprom, but Marquez by late KO because Marquez had the power and Sahaprom could be hit

What about Sahaprom's power? Rafa also could be hit.

Agreed. Would have been a great war because of it. I just see Marquez being a little stronger at 118. But wouldn't argue with anyone who picks Sahaprom. Close fight either way.

You've persuaded me. This could've happened; Sahaprom/Austin came very close.

I'd confidently have picked Sahaprom there.
Almost happened with that aborted Holyfield/Ruiz card in China.

Agreed. Would have taken a while but could see Sahaprom winning the second half of the fight

I had the privilege of watching Sahaprom live at ringside, twice, he's one of my fave Thai fighters.

But, Marquez is a different beast, Rafa would simply be too strong. and Sahaprom's lack of a high guard defense would be his downfall.

Marquez stops Sahaprom in the middle rounds.

 @ "a different beast". Rafael is one of the most overrated fighters of the past decade. Sahaprom by decision.
