Jaime Garza.

I have his fights with Berna and Meza; seems like a hard puncher with a suspect chin. Very exciting, though. What are your thoughts on him?

Lots of fun to watch. Il Duce is right, all offense, good punch, walked into a lot of stuff and was chinny. So, he was ideal for ESPN, USA Network or CBS Saturday afternoon-type fights. I remember watching him several times and it always seemed his bouts could end at any second - either way. He replaced Wilfredo Gomez as WBC champ and may have been his mandatory when he moved up to 126. Can't remember for sure. Gomez would have KO'd him within a few rounds, but it might have been fun.

I think Jaime posted on here for a brief minute.Great puncher who was chinny, and had no business losing to Meza.Always felt that him and Carmelo Negron would've given Wilfredo a good fight before losing late.

I think you're right; Berna was #2.

Il Duce wrote:I remember that bout for the 'vacant' Title.

A Late TV Fight.

'Little' Bobby Berna was supposed to 'go down' quick, and was not supposed to give Jaime Garza much of a test.

After Bobby got whacked around in the 1st Round, he landed one little counter-punch and Jaime went down.

Everybody's heart skipped a beat........... :oo
He ended up getting dusted off quickly, though. I have that fight with Sheridan on the call. Chavez fought Sandoval on the undercard; his U.S. T.V. debut, I believe (with English commentary, anyway).
