Only the very best and most competitive choose to face the very best. I've seen Ricky box a few times and he has really improved, he is solid world class; I've seen Broner box a few times and I can't see a bout being that competitive. Broner is head and shoulders above the others at lightweight and will move up to face physically stronger opponents. I imagine Broner will move up shortly in any case. If Ricky got bust up he may not box at a similar level again.

Broner doesn't seem a level above Burns to me. It is well worth the risk.

Gavin Rees had little to lose and a lot to gain by boxing Broner; he gave it his all and came out with credit (and a good hiding). Burns has a lucrative title to lose and a 'back to the drawing board' type of thing in case of a loss.

I thought that Kessler v Froch fight was a very closely fought fight Mick ,could of went ether way imho , as for Froch fight Dirrell again no thank you,all Direll wants to do is avoid the fight by clinging on for dear life ...hows that a fight ?

The difference is Dirrell has done nothing/beaten noone to be in the position to have earned a rematch. Froch went from his lost to face pretty much the top 5 in the division, beat an unbeaten champion and eclipised Kessler, if anything he's ahead of Kessler and Kessler's coming in as challenger

What has Dirrell done since the first fight to warrant jumping the queue and getting the rematch? He bitched out against Abraham, cried off to avoid fighting Ward and has barely fought since. He's an irrelevance at the top end of the 168lb division, currently, so of course Froch is entitled to look elsewhere.

All of a sudden, Ricky was not able to make super-featherweight, so he vacated and moved up. It coincided with Broner being the next opponent at super-featherweight, so fans like me perceive that Ricky's move up in weight was done partly to dodge Broner. Funny how Ricky made the weight a few months earlier for easier fights.

Funny how Broner made a twat out of himself by not being able to make super-featherweight against Escobedo while tweeting pictures of twinkies before the fight, and yet he could make superfeather before!
