This was bout was 'talked' about as a possible mid-1969 bout.
Bob Foster from the Southwest and Dave Zyglewicz from Houston (by way of Watervliet, NewYork).
A 'Natural' .
But Dave lost to Charley Polite in Troy, New York - in August 1969 - and that ruined that.
If 'Ziggy' got in close, he may have done some damage. But 'Sheriff Bob' was too long, and could see
this bout stopped on a 'sliced up' Zyglewicz by a TKO 5.
But, nobody put 'The Animal down, except 'Smokin Joe'.
I'm not laughing. I could actually see Ziggy doing a bit of damage to Slender Bob.

Yes, that would have been a good management plan. Build up a record and hope he didn't get exposed before he got a lucrative fight or two.Il Duce wrote:'Ziggy' could whack,,,,,,
Take a look at some of his photo's, he was built like a 'halfback',,,,,,,,solid rock.
But really, a small heavyweight. I would have fed him a steady diet of older Light
Heavyweights, and built his record back up in 1969 and 1970.
Then put him in with Bob Foster in late-1970 or early-1971.

One fight, I always wondered how it would of turned out, was Foster and Evans. Jerry 'Byrdstown Bomber' Evans. Good talent, just so bad Evans was a horrible bleeder by the time he got ranked #4 by the WBA.

That wasn't polite of Charlie to screw up that plan.:)Il Duce wrote:Don't laugh,,,,,
