Top Ten Lists

What Top Ten Lists would you like to see compiled?
Such as "Ten Dirtiest Fighters," "Ten Best Chins," "Ten Worst Heavyweight Challengers," etc.
What others?

How About ....
ten best counterpunchers....
Ten best southpaws....
Ten fighters who were great knockout punchers but had weak chins...
Ten Great overachievers....
Ten great fighters who were underachievers...
Ten best fighters who died young before fulfilling their promise....

Those would all be lists that could start some interesting debates..

I would like to see Top 10 or more Lists from all major "boxing Nation's

American
British
Mexican
Central & South American
Europian
South African
Others

Top 10 or more All-Time Greats, World Champions.

Top 10 or more All-Time Great National Champions.

Top 50 All- Time Great Contenders of each Nation.

In all weight divisions.

I think that would give you an overall broad perspective of All-Time Great boxers from all over the World.

well, without getting into a "ten best" list until give it more thought, here are some names in that come to mind.

Great counterpunchers: Joe Louis. This is going to astound some, who think of Joe as an agressive destroyer, which he was, but if you can see any of his early films you will see how he would feint leads and not throw them, feint and not throw until his opponent would be suckered into throwing a lead and Joe's hands were so fast his punch and follow up punches would get there first. In the second Walcott fight, another great counter puncher, the crowd booed what was actually an excellent technical fight.Walcott kept socking Louis in the first fight by countering him. In the second one, Louis just outwaited Walcott. Walcott went into a brief Ali shuffle to draw Louis, which he did but it gave the Bomber the opening he was waiting for and let loose with the kayo barrage.

Harold Johnson was one of the greatest counter punchers you'd ever see. He'd block a punch and in the same motion land one of his own.

underacheivers. Coley Wallace and light heavy Tony Anthony come to mind.

Over acheivers. It's seldom you'll hear me say much in favor of Marciano, but I think this was his greatest asset. limited in natural talent, great heart and great condition and determination are what took him as far as he went. Of course, you shall always find him high on my list of dirtiest fighters, and all alone at the top of the most over rated.

this is a good post and will draw good reaction, and I'm looking forward to learning more about some recent fighters that I'm not as familiar with.
