Dundee Show

Post by TheRealDeal »

I attended the show last night expect 6 or 7 bouts and only got 3 bouts and an exhibition fight. I was also disappointed by the Ronnie Clark fans fighting and shouting taunts at other fans in and the violence spilled on to the street after the event.

It was like a zoo.

I had my 16 year old son with me and its totally put him off going to a boxing show ever again.

Now I can understand why people don't want to fight Ronnie because of the people that follows him and there pathetic talk on here. People don't want that in the sport.

So you decided to make a boxrec username just to say that? Yeah people ain't boxing Ronnie because his fans are tools? It's nothing to do with the fact the guy can actually box is it? You where wanting 7 bouts? Thought there were only 5 confirmed.

Firstly the songs sang by Ronnie's fans are just in banter.. We tend to just focus on songs about Ronnie but due to the banter between Michael Stuparts fans it got into a bit of a slagging match between Fifers and Dundonians come on this always happens.. It made a great atmosphere!!! I'm assuming your a Stupart fan and maybe too offence as your man was beat.. I saw no chants from either side that were out of line and to be fair the roof raised for this fight..

As for the fight outside it was 2 Dundee guys who have had a long running feud which was nothing to do with the boxing show at all. We will put up our hands and say it wasnt the best show but Tony is relatively new to the promoting game and is learning each show.. For him to keep this show on after a very hard week deserves a lot of credit.

Wow clearly a bitter fan. There is always banter between dundee and fifers. U get the same at football and even ice hockey . Get a grip. U expected 7 fights yet only 5 were ever confirmed ? Also nobody will fight ronnie because 2 adults had a fight OUTSIDE the venue lol . Wow no wonder you don't want him in the sport all ronnies fault.

sounds like a bitter fifer to me!!!! i had my 11 year old son with me and hes bursting my head already on when ronnies next fight will be,3 fights when there should have been 5,disappointing but with 2 call offs on the night it couldnt be helped unfortunately, but ronnie clarks performance and also davie drummonds debut, and a decent boxing display by the lad burns more than made up for the call offs, for 25 quid a ticket i reckon people got a no bad deal, theres a show on st andrews sporting club a week tonite,3 fights 108 quid a ticket!!!!!!,great support for ronnie very noisy but all good banter and growing all the time,i can understand other peoples envy, what theyd give for a following like that!!!!!! as for the fight OUTSIDE between TWO guys, who cares,it wasnt 2 different sets of supporters fighting, others werent getting involved etc, total handbags stuff, ive had friends and workmates at me since sat asking when the next show is gonna be,theyd never saw ronnie fight before and loved what they saw,the shark bandwagon rolls on :yay:

I was at the show myself with a few mates and everybody had a ball and cant wait for the next show, as for opponents not wanting to fight Ronnie coz of his fans thats bull, most boxers have been dodging Ronnie LONG before saturday.violence can occurr anywhere where theres alcahol involved, its 10 times worse at music events.95% of boxing fans would never start any hassle, all the so called hard men would rather start fights at a music gig,if your bang out of order and start something at a boxing show you better be prepared for a well deserved slap.REAL fans dont wanna see fighting outside the ring but those who do are not welcome and im sure genuine fight fans will agree.its a bit like akid watching Rocky thinking yeah i can do that then next day they sober up and it never crosses their mind to enter a boxing gym

Ronnie care to explain why you didnt want the pro box scotland reporters at your show? They said it was due to some of the comments on one of their statuses on facebook on friday about why the fight was over 8 rounds rather than 12 rounds. Anything to do with people slagging off the made up title you were fighting for?

If i must explain ;) I very much like Kenny Barr of Pro Box Scotland ;) but Mr Bobby Collins seemed to cause somewhat trouble previously between myself and his mouth!!! Does he actually know anything about boxing?! I agree the British Masters is just a stepping stone for me but as i have always said i will fight anyone in my weight division ;) I dont claim to be no world champion i just guess if i get some belts in my weight category then people will want to fight me possibly?!

For a start why would it be over 12 rounds? Its common sense not to post anything unless you know the facts in which they posted for a debate a night before a fight before even attempting to contact Sweeney Promotions. Whereas i fully understand Ronnie can be controversial to say the least doing an interview and being in presence of someone who just causes trouble everywhere he goes. Pro Box Scotland is an unofficial site who are not representing anything to do with pro boxing really yet feel the need to release an offical statement. ?

I attended the event thought the atmosphere was great, yes it was a shame there were only 3 fights but for 25 quid it was still decent value.I spoke to one of the young fighters who had his fight cancelled and he was gutted having trained so hard.Look forward to ronnie,s next fight as I,m sure many others are.
