My 14th fight !!!
Re: My 14th fight !!!
That was a nice little scrap. It was close, your opponent just outworked you.
You have to throw that jab more when you are trying to get inside on taller fighters. If it is a good jab(or good jabs) it should keep your opponents hands in a defensive position and then you can work your combinations once you get inside. Also, use your straight right more. I like how you use the left hook to counter his punches, just don`t let guys get off a bunch of punches before you let loose. Hesitation hurts in a sport like boxing.
Another thing you should work on, is moving your head better when you are moving forward. Your head is too stationary and it allows your opponent to more easily predict where your head will be, thus making you more open for straight punches. People are more hesitant to throw punches when they are not sure where you will be. You do a good job of keeping your hands up, so keep on doing that just don`t take them away from your face until you are ready to punch.
Also, have you ever heard of a stutter step? It is where you feint jumping in to get a reaction out of your opponent. It messes with their timing and Ricky Hatton utilized this to great effect. You should check out his earlier fights.
You have talent. You just need some refining. Best of luck to you. Keep posting your fights too
