David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing ... fight.html
Probably the only way he will actually get another shot at the Klits.

Re: David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
will be in blinkin Germany if true
but good news if Haye can breathe some life into this wasteland of a division
Povetkin is the WBA champ, unbeaten
why hasn't he, Povetkin,fought a Klitschko?
all of the following are rumored
i) Povetkin has been offered the fight with Wlad several times and turned it down
ii) he is too much of a danger to be considered
iii) another cash cow for Sauerland who is being groomed as the guy to continue their monopoly on this division
So the real question is, will they risk him against Haye, with their heir apparent?
I hope so...the whole world hopes so

and I love Germany - honest
Re: David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
Can't see that happening because he doesn't want to fight Wladimir, only Vitali. Shouldn't be too hard to get a fight with Arreola for the No 1 WBC spot

Povetkin is awful. Just gets fatter and more tedious. What even is he? Are we suppose to consider these fights 'championship' quality?
The WBA have really made themselves ridiculous with this two champs scam. Open crime.

I'm not sure that its true Haye doesn't 'want' Wlad but he probably realises that either beating Vitali or being mandatory challenger are the only ways in which he would get the chance to fight him, after pissing him off during the build up (and aftermath) of their fight.gobbles wrote:Can't see that happening because he doesn't want to fight Wladimir, only Vitali. I reckon Haye would take a fight against Wladimir tomorrow but its not happening unless Haye has something to bring to the table, like last time.

Haye wins this comfortably
Re: David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
Regarding the third potential rumour, im confused. How is Povetkin another cash cow for Sauerland to continue their monopoly of the division? The klitschko's dominate the heavyweight division and they have never been promoter by Sauerland.si7dog7 wrote:will be in blinkin Germany if true

No you are right lefty. that is bollx. I got carried away. Apologies.. Kalle Sauerland promotes Povetkin. I think the Germany factor cannot be overlooked though. they do in effect have a stranglehold on the division.leftysreturn wrote:Regarding the third potential rumour, im confused. Re: David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
i think this is going to happen
they were all at the international prizefighter
Alexander povetkins next opponent will be david haye or audley harrison

I asked David Haye last week about the chances of him fighting Povetkin to get a shot at the klits and he said he was only focusing on the Vitali. He seemed very certain.

Audley wouldn't be able to KO Povetkin and he wouldn't be able to outbox him over 12 rounds so I doubt this highly. In saying that the current version of Audley is quite a bit better than the version of Rahman that faced Povetkin.Rogers21 wrote:i think audley would beat himmullenman wrote:i think this is going to happen

Re: David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
Oh he has the power to ko anyone its just putting it to use. He also has the skills to outbox anyone he just bottles it when he gets in the ring. He did look the real deal the other night but you have to look at who he was fighting it was a poorer line up than the previous HW prizefighter which Hammer won im wondering how he would have faired in that one.jameswilson wrote:Audley wouldn't be able to KO Povetkin and he wouldn't be able to outbox him over 12 rounds so I doubt this highly. Re: David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
are we seriously talking about audley fighting for a world title on the back of winning prizefighter.

Same and povetkin has been less mobile and more polodding lately audley shouldnt win but its more competative than the haye fightFinn wrote:Yesstevieb_8006 wrote:are we seriously talking about audley fighting for a world title on the back of winning prizefighter.povetkins fighting nobodies and harrison has at least been the EBU champion, world title challenger, olympic gold medalist, and has just had a 3 fight winning streak. Its better than the rahman fight so i dont think its beyond the realms of possibility. I think i would actually go depending on where the fight was held.
Re: David Haye to return to face Alexander Povetkin?
id actually like to see price v harrison II - Big Auds never lost a rematch.

You would get your travel fare back if you bet Povetkin in the first round by KO I'd think. A-Farce rides again!!Finn wrote:Yesstevieb_8006 wrote:are we seriously talking about audley fighting for a world title on the back of winning prizefighter.povetkins fighting nobodies and harrison has at least been the EBU champion, world title challenger, olympic gold medalist, and has just had a 3 fight winning streak. I do think Audley has 1 big fight left in him , If he can get a world title shot then fair play , he would know that he would never have another opportunity so may as well go for it , worst case scenario for him is he gets a nice payday , but he could finally realise his dream of winning a world title , although i reckon he would retire as champion though rather than lose it in his first defence unless it was vs a Klitschko in which case i think he would accept another pay day .
