Many of the boxing experts thought that Ishimatsu Suzuki would be too strong for Esteban,
wear him down, and stop him by a late TKO.

Definitely a 'high-quality' win for Esteban. Maybe his 'best' complete performance.

Esteban should be in the hall of fame.

He lost decisively, though. I don't give resume credit for HOF induction for decisive losses like that.

I consider Esteban De Jesus an all-time top 20 lightweight great. His only 2 losses at lightweight was against a man he fought 3 times, decking him in the first round in the first two and beating him in the first fight. Was the only fighter to beat the great Roberto Duran in his prime, being Manos de Piedra at his very best.
