Really wasn't expecting that and thought it was an easy fight to score 114-113 altho I do think it could easily have been 113-113 with a knock down scored in round 1.

Announcement was made earlier in the day that allegedly is to show Mayweather/Guerrero fight.

FOTY for me so far, immense bravery by both boxers. Bradley just can't help going macho when he's hurt, reminded me of Holyfield a bit in there.
I've watched Provodnikov on the way up, and knew this wasn't going to be an easy one for Bradley, the Russian hits hard but just can't sustain it in all rounds, maybe if he'd gone all out in the 11th he might of got Bradley out of there, but then again he might of got stopped himself if he was sold out for the 12th.

Timothy Bradley a boring boxer? I think that one can be put to sleep now.

I can't see the Hearns being in a rush to get Kell Brook in with either of these guys, but maybe it would be a good time to chase Bradley, as he's got to have left something behind in that fight.

Absolutely awesome bill I was amazed as I wasnt expecting it to be that good.

Not sure that the fat kid who was first on the bill was as good as Colonel Bob thought he was though & his scoring for the fight before was an absolute mile off.

In Provodnikov's loss to Herrera he just wasn't busy enough, it was one of those fight you either scored for the more punches landed by Herrera or the power of Provodnikov. The judges went for Herrera, which i agreed with.

Provodnikov seems to have that power in strength, rather than 1 punch KO power, he needs to land 3 or 4 power punches to get someone out of there, but he hurts people all through the fights when he lands. In his fights with Torres and Reynoso he did land alot.

I thought last night he looked even stronger at the higher weight, and not sure he'll move back down again, unless a big money fight comes his way. Anyone for Khan v Provodnikov?

Amazing fight. I think Bradley was looking for an easy challenge after the tough one with Pacman. As things turned out it was the toughest fight he has ever had. He said before the fight Provodnikov had nothing that he couldnt deal with. After the fight he said he wanted to show he could fight as well as box and chose to fight close up. Round one Bradley was hit so hard he was reeling all over the place and looked like he wouldnt survive. Round two the stoppage was on the verge of happening. How Bradley got through round two was nothing short of a miracle. Bradley must have everything David Price hasnt. Great chin and amazing ability to recover. Somewhere around 5 or 6 Ruslan through more big bombs and once again it looked as if Bradley was going to be KOd. Bradley had taken rounds 3 and 4 and did win most of the later rounds. Just before they began round 12, Bradleys corner told him to keep his distance and jab his way to a win. You heard them clearly say "he will be looking to knock you out", and that was certainly the Russians intention. He knew he had to KO Bradley to win. Once again the Russion landed big and had Bradley staggering all over the ring as the bell sounded to end the fight. Bradley got the decision but Provodnikov, I feel, would have won by KO had there still been 15 to 20 seconds left on the clock. Bradley was by far the most skilled of the two but the Russian had the punch of Mike Tyson. A swollen and cut eye did slow the Russian down in the closing rounds, and I think he was lucky not to be stopped as the cut was very bad. I also feel Bradley was lucky not to be stopped because in four seperate rounds his legs and his senses had gone. I am sure British refs would have stepped in, especially in round 2. I may be wrong but I think Bradley may go into decline after this fight. His confidence has without doubt been shattered, never mind how it may have affected him physically. I reckon he needs a brain scan, and thats for sure after this all out war.

Fantastic spectacle, heart & fitness. I nearly wet myself.

I did think that Bradley's rather glaring technical flaws--exacerbated by a Devil-may-care attitude to getting hurt; it's hard not to play the armchair commentating twat & go "Driven on by thoughts of redeeming bllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaarrggghle"--made the right hands painful to watch going in. He's so fit & fast he gets away with a lot, but he can't keep taking shots like that, surely?

Provodnikov's a hard boy, though he does have the patented "I'm trained by Freddie Roach" openness to uppercuts through the middle of his gloves he doesn't seem to care if you hit him.

Great, great fight.

I had it a draw (Bradley by a couple but a 10-8 in the second & another in the last for Provodnikov). 113-113 I think. Couldn't argue with any card up to & including have Bradley by a couple (though oddly I'd not agree with a Prov win; I thought I gave him every single benefit of the doubt myself, as Bradley's shoeshiney flurries annoyed me. I am fickle & corrupt).

PS: & that was so a knockdown in the first. Which would've tipped that to a 10-8 round too, & given Prod the win on my card, by a point. But with the (incorrect) ref's decision to call it a slip, I can't see Prod winning. I gave him the benefit of every doubt, I felt, & still couldn't score it for him.

Not sure where Bradley go's next, any chance he can get a shot at Mayweather?
I can't see Bradley beating him, but he deserves the payday.

I scored it 114-112 for Bradley,i scored the 1st round 10-9 to Provodnikov although it was clear it was his punch that put Bradley down(belatedly) by Bradleys legs so because i had Bradley winning the round up until then i gave him the benefit of the doubt and sided with the ref but although Bradley never went down in the 2nd i scored it 10-8 Provodnikov such was the 1 sideness of the beating he put on Timothy.i just think that the only rounds Ruslan won were the ones he had Bradley rattled,he does tend to switch off and stalk a lot without throwing much does Provodnikov and he got found out against Mauricio Herrera that when he cant stop an opponent he better hope their already in survival mode, great fighter i hope we get the rematch,i mean if Julio Cesar Chavez Jr can get 1 against Sergio Martinez on the back of that final round despite being played with for the previous 11 then surely.Good oppurtunity for Timothy Bradley to get the credit and exposure his acheivements merit :TU:

Fantastic fight ! :bag: :bag: :bag:
The kind of fight that draws people in until you can't take your eyes of it. Even got my visiting family watching (Dad "what a slug fest") until even my tutting Mum was egging them on.
Bradley got battered from pillar to post in the 2nd 10-8 :OhYes:

Totally agree.

Also agree with WildWayon as Bradley may never be the same after this, but he is now MUCH more marketable.

Not think he'd do better in a rematch? Coming out the way he did in the first round was a huge mistake, I think second time round he could win it fairly easily and convincingly.
Provo has an advantage, he KNOWS he has the power to rock Bradley to his boots

Bradley would fight a much smarter fight in the rematch. Box and move his way to a comfortable UD, but, that said, that's the way I thought it would go last night.

There are other names Provodnikov can fight for a while. Bradley - Marquez is a no brainer at this point.

Provodnikov is a natural 140 fighter so he should fight Rios! Can you imagine that fight, two come forward fighters going at it!

I'll have to have a look at the first round again, at the time i didn't think it was a knockdown, as he seemed to be pushed down, this was a couple of seconds after the punch landed and i think he would of been able to stay up without the leaning on to push him down

Scoring the fight i had it 114-113 to Bradley, that was with a 10-9 round in the first, so if i'd had it 10-8 in the first with a knockdown it would of been a draw.
I was surprised that Bradley managed to recover so well after the first 2 rounds, the 3rd you could see Provodnikov knowing what he should do , but he was too arm weary to throw the shots.

I saw it similar to Lewis-Tyson as massive shots landed and without them he wouldn’t have gone down. Strictly speaking, Lewis bundled Tyson over, which could have prompted the clearly biased Cotton to call a no-knockdown in that one. But even Cotton, who spent most of the fight trying to sap Lennox’s strength by pushing him about, didn’t sink to that low.

Bradley's legs looked worryingly Bambi-esque.

Agreed mate: Bradley got hit, his legs went, & he tried desperately to clutch as he fell. Prov smothered his own work so putting the onus for the call in the hands of the referee, who I think was the chump who loves Abner Mares, so Prodnov's got no-one to blame but himself.

But was definitely a knockdown, Ian. If he hadn't got punched, wouldn't have gone down. Same as Cotto versus wossname, that COlombian slugger who got fvkced by Kendall Holt. Torres?

Prokdokinov will either be a monster for anyone who stands in front of him or a fairly pedestrian UD for someone smart & quick, I think.

Who's that Turkish fella who lost to Guerrero & Jesus Soto Karass? Stick him in with Prokodniov, please. Or, indeed, Soto-Karass himself.

I've watched the 1st round a few times now, and i still say the ref made the right call, without the shove Bradley wouldn't of gone down. I guess i'm in the minority there.
