I'm currently working on an internet based boxing promoter game but am trying to develop the most complete stats system possible and am looking for views on what I could add or remove. Here are the stats I'm rating boxers on at the moment.
Hand Speed: Self explanatory
Power: How hard he can hit.
Chin: How good a shot he can take and stay on his feet.
Stamina: How many rounds a fighter can go at full speed before wilting.
Work Rate: How much effort a fighter will put in.
Aggresiveness: His willingness to go forward.
Killer Instinct: His ability to sense when the end is near and pile on pressure.
Strength: His physical strength. Gives him advantage in things like clinches and other physical stuff. Scott Harrison would have a high rating in this.
Right hand: How well he throws his right hand
Left hand: How well he throws his left hand
Defending Right/Left Head shots: How well he defends against punches to certain areas.
Defending right/left body shots: How well he defends against punches to certain areas.
Cuts: How easily he gets cut.
Proneness to injury: Hand breaks, nose breaks etc, Joe Calzaghe would have a high rating.
Intelligence: How well a fighter can figure out his opponents style and adapt accordingly.
Heart: The fighters desire to continue the fight even when faced with overwhelming odds. Fighters with strong heart ratings will get off the canvas a lot more.
Balance: Get caught off balance and you're going down.
Clinching: How well the fighter can gain clinch advantage.
Cheating: How well a fighter can disguise illegal moves such as a low blow from the referee.
Combinations: The fighters ability to throw more than one punch at a time.
Accuracy: How often the fighter will land punches thrown.
Head Movement: The fighters ability to slip jabs and other such punches and open up punches for himself.
Footwork: The fighters ring movement.
Front foot: How well the fighter fights on the front foot.
Back foot: How well the fighter fights on he back foot.
Body Endurance: How well the fighter can take a shot to the body.
Confidence: The fighters mental state on how well he is going to do in his up coming fight, over confident fighters will take more chances and give opponents less respect.
Motivation: Fighters enthusiasm for boxing. A high motivation fighter will be looking for big fights and titles, a low motivation fighter will be thinking about retirement.
Danger Awareness: A fighters instinct when hurt. A fighter with a high rating in this area will hold on for dear life when hurt and will try every trick in the book to make it through the round.
Foot speed: How fast a fighter can close down to attack or back off if hurt.
Body Punching: How well the fighter punches to the body.
Mental Stability: Fighters with low stabilty might crack up like Golota and lose a fight before it's even started. Pairing a low stability fighter with a high intimadation fighter is a bad idea.
Dedication: Fighters with high dedication will always make the weight and be fighting fit come fight night. Bernard Hopkins would excel in this rating.
Intimidation: Fighters with high intimadation can crack up low mental stability fighters and sometimes force a measure of control against higher opposition fighters by getting inside their head.
Reflexes: How well a fighter can avoid a punch.
Sharpness: Fighters with high sharpness will spot split second openings that fighters with low sharpness wouldn't be able to spot or exploit. Regular fights bring sharpness.
I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has any ideas on some stats that would help improve or round out this lot. I want to factor in every possible thing that can effect an outcome of a fight. I have seperate stats for corner men and all he rest but for now I'm focusing on fighters.
Some advice on boxing game stats
Versatility - how able a fighter is to switch style, try unusual things to gain an advantage.
Pain Threshold - how well a fighter can keep going with cut and swollen eyes, a broken rib or jaw or injury, basically. Seperate from ability to soak up punishment, this is more about the confidence of the fighter to keep going forward or stick to a gameplan when fighting through pain. Bear in mind that you don't have to be losing to be fighting through the pain barrier.

Determination - never say die attitute, quite similar to dookus' pain threshold I suppose. Edit - see you have it as heart.
You could have something like Dirty tactics - a rough fighter who is easy with the head and/or strays lows often. Although you could either work it that a fighter who is high in this runs the risk of getting DQ'd or does these tactics well.
Think Holyfield for the latter and the likes of Tyson/Golota for the former.
