Yep much better then the 1 live fight which more often then not was a mismatch and some taped stuff after like the old FFN format.However if that show was the norm was the the norm then Hearn is failing because he`s capable of puting on much better shows then that and Sky will expect much better and for the most part he puts on really good shows i think March the 9th will be a blip.

yeh i was on the wind up. but....frank said they peaked and 240,000, went back to 120,000 and are now close to 200k again

March 9th and April 20th are not good enough no doubt about it but I think Skys plans with Boxing is long term and there will be hits and misses in the first year. March 9th was still the 3rd best show of the year in the UK.....which is really really shit but it shows you where were at.

I think this is a really decent card for a small hall. Winter Gardens isn't very big. I think it's a huge step up for Brian rose, Selby is classy and will hopefully be tested, Cardle in a test against an unbeaten fighter and gorgeous Eddie is trying to put a couple of local lads on the card in Askin & Arnfield. Then there's also the prospects.

I have been watching live boxing for years & with the current amount of Latvian/Lithuanian lemmings coming over here & allegedly lack of decent home fights (it will be interesting to see how even Bunce can put some positive spin on tomorrow nights events). I think it is 1 of a couple of stand out cards coming up.
Rose v Alcine - Seen a lot worse
Cardle v Hughes - 2 Unbeatens. Could be good
Askin v Clarke - Both have winning records. Potentially a good fight.
Selby - Great prospect will be interesting to see who he is meeting
Yafai, Smith & Stalker great prospects.
As I have stated before I have a "boxing budget" that I set aside for decent bills & so far my budget is pretty much untouched apart from the last Coldwell show & the tickets for this.

I do like eddie Hearn and respect what he is trying to do for his stable of fights but the card schedualed for sky sports on the 20th april is just not acceptable as a paying skysports subscriber (only reason i have sky sports is for the boxing)

Another gash show from Hearn, really poor stuff. Boxing on SKy rarely holds any interest for me these days, what with Prizefighter and this sort of junk, how do they really expect people to WANT to watch this shit?

Absolute crap - this is meant to be a premium boxing channel - they certainly charge customers premium prices, and for very little boxing, so when they do show it, it should be the very best stuff - not this low rent small hall stuff served up by Hearn, who seems to have the clueless Adam Smith in his back pocket now.

Sky are meant to be the UK equivelant of HBO - and just think of the huge fights HBO serve up compared this dross.


His dad nearly ruined sky boxing back in the 80's, by selling them a dud 12 fight deal with Eubank, against a long line of hopeless stiffs, and now Junior is doing the same thing here.

And Smith has turned what was once a great boxing channel into Eurosport2

I thought Tim Bradley vs Ruslan was a mis match, but I was wrong. Wonderfully entertaining fight. My point is, shouldn't we reserve judgement until after the event? I like to watch Rose, and this is a good step up for him. The undercard could very well produce some good solid entertainment, we just don't know yet.

People keep moaning about this promoter, and that promoter, blah blah blah. Fact is, you will get high profile cards (Froch v Kessler), and you will get lower profile cards (Rose v Alcine). We keep hearing that boxing is about "levels", I want to see boxing at all levels please!

Indeed, but it was still a worse card than the 20th April one, and thus demonstrates that it is not the worst in sky sports broadcast history. Other recent cards worthy of a mention include Vassell v Colomban, Martin Murray v nick Blackwell, John Murray v karim el ouazghari, frankie Gavin v Michael lomax and Ricky burns v laryea (for a world title!)

Should we really have to compare a card to the worst sky card ever? It just shows how shit it is, it doesn't make it better because it isn't the worst.

It's an average card which has a chance to be decent, the op was silly enough to say it is the worst card in history for whatever reason thats why people are putting him right on that . This could be a decent show, if Selby gets a good opponent.
