Briscoe was slipping but still had something left. That wasn't one of Hagler's best performances, but he did enough to win.

That's the only guy I ever saw Marvin fight where he had no interest in combat. Smart move, not a great fight.

Peltz put on some good shows in Philly. For the fans in the nose bleed seats, you had two bald black boxers both wearing maroon trunks. The only way to tell them apart from far away was that Hagler was a southpaw.
I knew Briscoe's manager and he said Bennie only asked 2 questions, how much and when? He never cared who he was fighting. It's a shame great fighters like Briscoe never made enough money back then to live off of their boxing earnings. He worked everyday for years as a trash man. He like to call himself a sanatation engineer.
