The Super Six: Final Table (Pound For Pound)

Post by Crease »

And so after five weeks of the highest standard of gruelling combat we have our victor:

League Table: (if tied it goes to the head-to-head record)

................................F...W.....D.......L..
.Gene Tunney..........5....3.....1.......1....
Benny Leonard...........5....3......1.......1..
.Sugar Ray Robinson....5....2......3.......0...
.Roberto Duran...........5....2......1.......2...
.Rocky Marciano.........5....1......0.......4...
.Joe Louis..................5....1......0.......4...

Sugar Ray Robinson is awarded the Bronze Medal for completing this challenge with an undefeated record and thus finishing third in the tournament.

Benny Leonard is awarded the Silver Medal for having a 60% win percentage against the best out there.

But this season's worthy winner, finishing top of the table..... Mr Gene Tunney

This season's tournament was decided on a head-to-head basis.

Note 1: Despite having identical records, King Gene defeated Leonard in the fourth round by Technical Knockout in round seven.

Note 2: And the bottom of the table was decided min a third round clash, where Marciano edged a Majority Decision.

Would Tunney like to attempt to parlay this win? As I understand it, Pep has agreed to defend the Lonsdale for one final postseason event.
