Audley v Danny an Undercard fight???
Audley v Danny an Undercard fight???
Thats laughable, who gives a flying fcuk about 2 club fighters like Skelton and McBride when we have our biggest domestic heavyweight showdown in years.
I dont even want to hear the names Skelton/McBride in the build up to this fight!

??????? what you on about mate, its excelent for the sport.ALI wrote:I dont know how its being billed, a co-main event or not, Audley & Danny are on before Skelton v McBride..... thats undercard.
Its not good for the sport when this happens!
Cos in years gone by they try and fleece to sets of entrance money etc (look how empty the MEN for brodie Harrison was).
For my mind its obvious the main event is Harrison williams as there is more interest in it.
But skelton Mcbride will do as a supporting bout, add to that Magee Jennings and probably Amir Khan and this is EXACTLY what the sport needs.
Fair play to SN, they have done a good job here getting this card together.
*assuming it stays as as such

He got away with it for the Moli fight. Commonwealth stripped him immediately, but only after he picked up the WBU bauble did the bbbc tell him to pick one or t'other. Not fornicating ideal to say the least.josh fg wrote:Looking at the BBC report it strikes me that the Skelton Williams fight is a WBU title fight, if that is the case then surly skelton will have to vacate his British title, therefore this could well be a British title fight to sweeten it a bit. Not that a title is needed to sell this one.

Just back from the press conference. It's the main event of a good night's boxing, not titles on the line at the moment but the Commonwealth title was talked about.
The piece and pictures will be here

Because joe public gets all the hype about Audley v Danny, they then get to watch the fight............. followed by two pub brawlers who are the shows headliners. Its a huge anti-climax and a total turn off, i bet the viewing figures fall rapidly once the skelton v mcbride fight starts. People everywhere will be reaching for their remotes. Its a bad way to end a show, especially as its going on national tv!
Spot on. As someone who sat through the turgid pap that was the Hatton - Tszyu undercard and did so without the benefit of booze, a big card with a decent support is owed, I think. Not sure how it will pan out though - FW might want to spread his names over a number of cards rather than having them lost to ITV
I don't think it matters, aslong as both a championship distance fights then I'll be happy.
I actually think Skelton vs McBride probably deserves to be the main event - as Skelton is (and should be) ranked higher than Williams based on him beating Sprott. But it doesn't matter, I am actually looking forward to both fights - the Williams vs Harrison one more.
Sounding a bit greedy now, but how about a triple heavy event, Sprott vs the English champion or Sprott vs Gammar in a final eliminator for the British title would be nice.

FW confirmed whether it is for a title or not there will be three judges for the fight!stujones wrote:I don't think it matters, aslong as both a championship distance fights then I'll be happy.

As long as its a 12 rounder. I don't want know excuses that "what would have happend with an extra 2 rounds"Kevin wrote:FW confirmed whether it is for a title or not there will be three judges for the fight!stujones wrote:I don't think it matters, aslong as both a championship distance fights then I'll be happy.

ITV should kick off live 9pm with Williams/Harrison - makes sense. Then show Skelton delayed, just in case it's a 12 round horror show - in which case, show the "highlights".
But if Matt scores a good TKO over the big lunk ( and there's a good chance he might ), then show that in full and get the public buzzing.

i dont understand your point, you were moaning that we had two matches of roughly equal quality on the same bill right.ALI wrote:J wrote:??????? what you on about mate, its excelent for the sport.ALI wrote:I dont know how its being billed, a co-main event or not, Audley & Danny are on before Skelton v McBride..... thats undercard.

i.e. two co main events, what are you asking for one of them being removed? or cancel all the fights? What are you moaning about exactly?
the fights tyhemsleves or the fact they are both on the same night? I cant see how it is bad for boxing to have 4 domestic top heavywreigths ont he same bill personally.
Aren't ITV contractually obliged to feature Amir Khan on every show and lead with Jim Rosenthal's paedophilic sneerings about his 'hyewge talint'?MightyWarrior wrote:ITV should kick off live 9pm with Williams/Harrison - makes sense. Also interview with Kahns dad whering Union flag Jackett.
Hide wouldn't be ringside cos 1) he is a Hennessy fighter and warren wouldn't have that
2) because there is a warrent out for his arrest.
Warran could really play on the two olympic medalists thing though that woud make sence from a promotional point of view
