I just read on Fightnews that Bobby Hitz (the promoter of Vera's opponent) wants a rematch. He claims that a language barrier was the problem.

Yeah I saw that last night, it was definitely a BS stoppage to say the least. I think Vera would've won anyway, but the other guy was still very much in the fight, and I've seen guys go on a hell of a lot longer with way worse cuts than that. It was a pretty good fight up until then.

The Savigne vs Jackson Junior fight was the highlight of FNF last night for sure.

I agree, his opponent seemed to be tiring a bit not to mention the bleeding was getting worse. Vera always tends to come on late as well. It would've been interesting to see if the guy wouldn't have got stopped anyway in a more decisive manner. It had been a close fight, and would've been tight on the scorecards...unless Vera would've separated himself in the final 3 rounds a little more clearly.

You/they had VERA up? I had Bondas up 69-64. The only round I gave Vera was 4, and the first was the only one that I could have remotely given him. Vera was getting the brakes beat off him. I don't know how it could be seen any other way. IMO the fix was in on this one. And I'm actually pretty big Vera fan.

What rounds did you give Vera? Again, I gave him 4. Thought 1 could have gone either way. Thought 2 was kinda close. I didn't see any others that were even remotely arguable, though. Bondas badly outboxed him, significantly outpunched him, and just in general was dominating the fight increasingly as it went on.

Admittedly, this is a rare case of me initially not paying enough attention to a fight. When I score fights, I'm usually alone and focused on the action, but I first watched this with several friends, and my attention was often not where it should've been.

Upon first viewing, I scored rounds 1,3, 4, and 5 for Vera. While Bondas seemed to be landing more in some of those rounds, I felt Vera was landing much harder and having more of an effect with his punches.

Upon second viewing, I scored only rounds 4 and 5 for Vera, with rounds 1 and 5 being swing-rounds. Vera's punches were far less damaging than I first thought, and Bondas's right hands were landing more frequently and with more force than I first thought; he couldn't miss with that punch. Because Vera wasn't effective as I previously thought, I couldn't give him rounds in which he was outlanded as I did earlier.

When Vera took the offensive lead, Bondas did a good job of responding with at least as many punches as Vera threw, while Vera failed to do the same after Bondas took the lead. Overall, it was a good performance from Bondas and a poor one from Vera; I cannot see him having much success against Chavez Jr. if that fight occurs.

No way he beats Jr. He'd suffer Lee's fate.

Ya, except it would be more punishing because he'd stand in front of Chavez and trade with him for the entire fight. It would be like a big truck running over a small truck.
