Kevin Mitchell

Post by stujones »

According to the schedule at BBN - Kevin Mitchell's opponent on the Williams vs Skelton bill has not been finalised (I suppose Mitchell's got to get through his opponent on the Harrison bill first). However, interestingly it will be Mitchell's first title fight.

Apparently the IBF Inter-continental FEATHERWEIGHT title will be on the line. I'm quite intrigued by this (maybe Kevin can verify it). Perhaps, somehow the reigning champion has been reliquished of the title, but if Mitchell is facing the last guy who held the title - then it a HUGE increase in opponent quality.

This is the guy who last held the title, and there is no sign to think why he has been stripped.

Looking at his record more closely, it could be an excellent match up - he is a non puncher who has yet to face any named fighter. However, still to fight a guy with a winning record is a big step for Kevin (a guy who has gone 12 before also)

All speculation of course.

I think its gonna be for Alex Arthurs old Super Featherweight title...hopefully it will be a sterner test for Mitchells coronation, that Arthur Vs Kizza fight was a disgrace.

Thats what Boxrec have it has actually - seems like nobody has won it since Arthur so it is vacant.
