what does allegedly need to do?
theres a lot of allegedly subsribers on here and a lot who are against it,what would convince the non subscribers to put their hand in their pocket and subscribe? HD? more uk shows?
Re: what does allegedly need to do?
There are a lot who'd probably subscribe if there were an half hour of Mr Warren wearing a hair shirt and whipping himself and crying for forgiveness before every show + it'd have to be free for them as well, (though most would prefer it if only most paid for it while they got it free).
Re: what does allegedly need to do?
Getting on the BT platform would help.
Re: what does allegedly need to do?
Being a pay option on freeview or freesat, not pay virgin/sky + allegedly
Re: what does allegedly need to do?
allegedly will launch their HD channel in September. Frank confirmed this last week in a interview.
Re: what does allegedly need to do?
Replace Eddie with Frank

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
More international cards
Less of Bunce and Rawling (Watt and Halling might be bad but Bunce and Rawling aren't any better) maybe even have a second weekly show with someone else doing the show and covering international events or the lower divisions
A more "neutral" stance rather than the cheerleading and pandering (this by it's self would make the channel appear more honest)
More stuff (i.e. more interviews, weigh ins, documentaries, movies, build up and archive fights)
One thing both me and the missus picked up the other week during the Raoui v McMorrow fight was how Rawling and Jones would almost ignore the action in the ring to talk about other stuff, i.e. mentioning McMorrow made her debut at the Playboy Mansion in the middle of the round (get this out of the way BEFORE the fight!)
Stop showing the almost pointless domestic shows of Prospect v no-hoping Journeyman that seems to have been their only domestic output in recent months. At least have 1 competitive bout on every card!
The channel is making advances in what it does so I'll give credit where it's due but there is a lot that could be done to improve it.
Maybe have a weekly schedule of:
Bunce's show on Monday
Archive stuff on Tuesday
2nd weekly show on Wednesday
Documentaries on Thursday
Fights on Friday + Saturday
Recap on Sunday
Boxing films (i.e. Rocky, Cinderella Man) where there is space
I understand it all costs money but it would add the to the value the channel has for subscribers and make the channel worth the money.

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
Is there any other TV channel in the world that shows just boxing? If there is, how do they go about it?

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
how about a phone in show on one of the days instead of another show? they have done 2 phone in shows the 2nd was after the price fight and was a bit of a farce as most of the people who phoned in were pissed!
Re: what does allegedly need to do?
Getting it on the freeview as a subscription like Espn would be good .
Would be a viable option for boxing fans who have lost faith in sky .
A good quality magazine show with a relevant credible host and FW could do with putting some leg work in to repairing his reputation.

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
A few years back when we saw virtually no overseas fights whatsoever on Sky I'm pretty sure everyone here would have snatched CH437's hand off for a tenner a month. It's excellent value for money.

Agreed. I think this would get more subscriptions for the channel.TJ77 wrote:Getting it on the freeview as a subscription like Espn would be good .

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
Also getting things sorted out earlier. Just gone on their schedule and they have:
Butler v Kareem (April 12th)
Cleverly v Krasniqi (April 20th)
Khan v Diaz (April 27th)
Martinez v Murray (April 27th)
Mayweather v Guerrero (May 4th)
Price v Thompson II (July 6th)
We all know they couldn't do the "2 cards every week" that they promised but 4 cards in April just looks awful on paper (and only 1 of them is really "must watch") and whilst they may add things it looks bad looking ahead and going "well they aren't really showing much this month are they..."

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
The channel is a godsend for the international cards. Love it.
HD would be very welcome and if they could make it a available on more platforms would surely add many more subscribers .
As for April, you have Murray/Martinez, Rios v Alvarado, Khan and Cleverley I'm prepared to pay 2.50 each for those..

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
None as of yet however allegedly did make an interesting reveal in an interview last week. allegedly will be sold on a franchise basis internationally.palooka wrote:Is there any other TV channel in the world that shows just boxing? If there is, how do they go about it?
Some good info about the future of the channel here:

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
A long term deal with Top Rank is currently being negotiated. If that can be agreed soon, the schedule should start filling up really quickly. I don't think it will be too long until we are actually getting 8 live cards per month.iamasadlittleboy wrote:Also getting things sorted out earlier. Just gone on their schedule and they have:

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
How would selling allegedly to other country's work? Wouldn't they have to buy the writes for each fight in each country?
Re: what does allegedly need to do?
It wouldn't be a direct broadcast of the British version of the channel. Say someone bought the franchise in Japan, they would get access to all of W&rrens live shows and back catalogue of fights. It would then be up to whoever bought the franchise in Japan to negotiate their own deals with various promoters world wide to further fill the schedule. Basically you are buying the business model, the brand and a start up package of content from allegedly Promotions. I'm sure allegedly / allegedly UK would recommend Sauerland and Golden Boy to anyone buying the franchise.thatllbeme wrote:How would selling Allegedly channel to other country's work? More small hall shows covered. I'm not fussed about production values. It's simple.....
SHOW MORE LIVE BOXING.
SHOW MORE LIVE BOXING.

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
Why not build fighters up more. Copy and expand on the excellent work C5 has done humanising Degale.
For me every time I've gone to subscribe they've had a deal just for SKY customers which royally pees me off. Hoping when espn finish virgin will give us it for free.
As Keith says show more small hall shows, doesn't have to be polished a few cameras and the vast majority will be happy. They should do a fan zone too and get us moaners on there commentating to see how hard it really is!!
I'm almost embarrassed as a boxing fan I don't have it.

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
HD is a must.
I dont think you can even buy a TV under 37" in size nowadays and the old format of standard definition was suited to the old tube tv sets.

Re: what does allegedly need to do?
sign hard knocks promotions. eurosport have right idea promoting the queensbury boxing league same with sky and WSB show these before the big cards and say these are the guys too look out for then build them up from thier debut same as hearns has done with yafai and is going to do with stalker
