Not sure if it's on, but it's been mentioned for a while.

Would be great for 6 rounds, then Matthew takes a savage beating. I hope it comes off.

How so? He's fought far better comp than Golovkin has, and did very well.

We obviously agree on the winner :D

Cant see Macklin accepting that fight, i know he,s a warrior in the ring and he fought Martinez i just think he,s a bit precious when it comes to picking fights and activitys an issue also i mean he hasnt fought since blowing away Joachim Alcine in a round and he hasnt even got a fight lined up,not exactly ideal preparation going into a fight against Gennady Golovkin, although i will say it should be the toughest fight of GGGs career on paper if it were to happen

Would certainly be the first person to give GGG a couple of smacks back, dont see him winning but certainly not the 3 round blowout mentioned above.

I'd prefer it if Macklin fought Geale or Quillin.

Macklin will be Golovkin's best opponent to date. If Golovkin wins then he should have done enough to earn a Martinez fight.

I'm sure I heard Macklin say on Ringside he refused the fight as it was too close after the Alcine fight, the fight he blasted Alcine out in round 1 so can't see why it was too close, not like he was marked up or required a lay off.

GGG for Me all the way.

Macklin doesnt have the greatest chin so i see it going badly for him! Dont get me wrong, Macklin doesnt have a bad chin and the war with Moore proved that but in the fights he's lost he's been stopped and that doesnt bode well against a savage puncher like Golovkin.

Just think Macklins style is all work rate and when hes throwing he will leave him self open to big shots. Not that i rate GGG like some do (only because i dont think hes faced any real tests as of yet) but i dont think Macklin is a world class fighter himself. Just my opinion though. At least we agree that GGG wins mate

Like most above I take GGG to win this but the nature of the victory will tell us a lot about just how good he may be. I will have ££ on Golovkin TKO/KO.

Golovkin's power + Macklin's poor defence = early night

Yeah, cannot see how Macklin wins this. Golovkin looks the bees knees. Macklin might have the power to test the whiskers of GGG - but so far.... that doesn't seem to be a weakness.

I would say GGG within six..... and definately Macklin won't see the final bell. Even if he has a brilliant start. He usually gases at around rounds 9/10 - and GGG will be way too powerful.

Not nearly as sold on Gennady as most, frankly. His best win is Proska, which was admittedly impressive. But everyone else has either been a joke, or a light-middle. & a joke. He's got more hype for beating fvck-all than Adrien Broner, which is saying something.

OTOH, I think Macklin's just outside of tippety-top level meself, & will go down late after an accumulation.

But Golovkin as some kind of unbeatable unstoppable monster is a smoke & mirrors PR creation, frankly.

It's nice having a potential wrecking ball back in the Middleweight division though, it has to be said. The trouble with Golovkin is he's too easy to hit, sooner or later a good boxer with speed and a good chin will turn him over but in the meantime it'll be interesting to see him clear out some of the dead wood.
