Why has Ochieng not been made mandatory by the Board? He won the English title and made 3 defences - now he's vacated it and seems to be somewhat in limbo.

I don't feel Rose should vacate just for the sake of it - he has no obligation to anybody but himself - but the Board really should force his hand by making the most deserving contender mandatory?

And before anyone says 'make Ochieng-Smith' etc. let's be realistic - any Hearn vs Warren fights are just not going to happen.

just because his defended the english 3 times doesnt make u mandatory for british granted it puts u in a strong position with the board but his defenses hav been hand picked and his he never boxed against a mandatory opponent for the english title or a fellow top 10 ranked fighter. imo after ochieng wins this fight and rose wins 20th rose will vacate leaving ochieng in a strong position to fight for the vacant title.

Nasser is a very good fighter but again too many of his so called fights have been called off for many reasons and I think he has an oppertunity to fight Mansouri for the English and that is not confirmed so there is a little bit of unrealiability attached to Nas at the moment which he needs to shift.

do you think maxwell won that the judges didn't give him?

if kaddour beat ochieng it would not be his best win and not even close to his best
opponent with 2 competitive fights against ishe smith and alfonso gomez. kaddour
would by far be the best opponent ochieng had faced. would have been a good fight.
it's still almost 6 weeks out so not sure what kaddour's problem is.

You didnt mention the fact Khaddour came in over weight? or that they changed it just before they went in the ring and the fact he was blowing at the end of seven and would have stuggled to do the full ten.That was the home town advantage i alluded too.Boxrec reports are wrote by local guys everyone knows that.If hed been as good as he should have been he wouldnt have come in over weight and they wouldnt have had to change the length of the fight just before the start.

there is nobody who saw that fight who would say the decision was hometown.
maxwell lost the fight by unanimous decision because he lost 5 rounds. then you
say the decision to cut the distance the last minute was for reasons other than
stated (the card was too long with keller, skoglund, braekhus, and neilsen
going the distance on a 9 fight card). i don't believe that was the only adjustment
to the schedule, either. nice tin foil hat you're wearing, there.

to his record. do the math. you have an 8 round fight. without kd's or points taken away,
you need to win 5. you clearly spot the other guy the 1st 3 rounds. you are in deep doodoo

next 4 rounds. if the fight was 2 more rounds, all kaddour had to do was win one
of the last 2 and the result would have been the same. you are saying because kaddour

Yep Ochieng will be fighting someone else on 25th May. Thats a shame however I home he will be fighting someone of a good pedigree

No thats a good fight I admit. I meant more on the domestic level to be honest. The problem with Lara and a few others are they dont have much exposure and thus some of these fights wont end up being made
