Recap of the 2013 U.S Nationals

Post by cali144 »

I would like to know everybodys opinion of our boxers at the Nationals and USA boxing future in international tournaments?i actually thought that a lot of juniors male boxers looked better than our Elite male boxers ,our 132lbr Sims did look very good and our female boxers didn't look good at all,i remember seen marlen esparza three years ago and she looked very skilled and technical but after seen her at this years nationals she looked bad and missed wildly with a lot of her punches, her skills have seem to get worst then better,i expected Shawn simpson to blew everybody away but he did truly get beat.So I think with our JO boxers we do have a lot to look forward to but with our current Elite men and women we might be in trouble

Saw that Marlen Esparza spar a World Champ, Esparza looked like a young Oscar only goes to the body better. From what I saw she looks to be the goods. As for the Jo kids I think sum of them could beat the older kids

I think our JO guys looked really good also and a few of our Elite fighters looked sharp, yes our women fighters didnt look good at all, including our two olympians,i got to see marlen also for the first time this year at our nationals and yes i agree she didnt look good at all for a olympian,i did watch her sparring with the world champion, but thats sparring cause she looked nothing like that at the nationals,i thought she was more skillfull,,,,,Four of our JO's do seem like the future so i think internationally male wise we will be ok

I agree that Sims looked very good and Leroy Davila. They both have shown they can win internationally
