erdei vs sahoune

zolt erdei and medhi sahoune fight for the former's WBO lightheavyweight title on saturday. I have been impressed with erdei's skills but seems a bit lazy at times. I havent ever seen sahoune fight but he only has one loss on his record but the bookies are making him a big underdog. Anyone know anything about sahoune?

Don't know much about Sahoune but I fully expect Erdei to cruise to a UD

I know a lot about him...been watching him for quite a while.
Sahnoune is a pure brawler with decent skills, he is rather short for his weight, is quite stocky and hits really hard...he walks straight forward at his foes and bangs...he hasnt got a very good defense and his main flaw is his brain as it is rather easy to frustrate him and make him lose his focus.
That is exactly what Branco who is cunning and skilled did, keep him away with a good jab and work with counters until he folded...
Erdei will have to keep focus at all time, be very well conditionned and box backwards...if Erdei tried to go toe to toe or brawl, he will get KOed.

Cheers for the analysis Raff, sounds an interesting fight, Sahnoune is clearly a bit of a puncher but i expect Erdei to have enough about him to take a Unanimous Decision. At 31 Erdei appears like a fighter happy to sit back in Germany and defend his WBO belt against lower class challengers, when it comes to unifying the division's best fighters i think we can safely count his inclusion out.

Its not fair to say that yet. This fight was supposed to come off in teh summer but Erdei got sick, so they rescheduled it for now. If he wouldve fought that stiff Woods instead, people wouldve jsut been saying he ducked Sahnoune.

Good fight, I pick Erdei in this one.

Woods is no stiff, the guy has paid his dues and won a title the hard way, he deserves respect for his turn in form and i think calling him a stiff is a bit harsh.

No way would people have said Erdei was ducking Sahnoune if he'd fought Woods, what are you on about? Woods is no easy challenge these days, he's beaten 2 tough opponents in good style this year. I think Steve has a point when he says Erdei is happy to stay at home: After 2 matches against Garay, he's hardly calling people out is he?

Lightheavy is all set for a great unification tournament, with Woods, Adamek, Tiozzo and Erdei, and I'd throw in the two guys who don't hold belts, Tarver and Johnson. They've all shown that they're prepared to fight tough opponents, and do it away from home as well, in most cases.

That belt belongs to Garay, he's been ripped off twice now by Erdei. Even the crowd boo'ed the decision last time.
