BILLY JOE SAUNDERS v JOHN RYDER

Post by JayMc »

Gone out for purse bids - If this gets made it will be a great fight and one I would really look forward to.

Really would be a 50/50 fight.

I'd go for John Ryder to win I think he's the better all round boxer well schooled, decent defense and good power. Whilst BJS is a very good boxer I don't think he has good enough power to hurt Ryder..

Who wins it - your thoughts ?

@ Chris W 1982 - Care to give an explanation :TU:

Hope Warren doesn't get BJS to give up the Britsh title - These fights need to be made domestically and would be a great shame if it never happened.

Great contest if it goes ahead. I really like Ryder & his style & bj is one of the most naturally gifted fighters I've seen of recent times. Ryder has what it takes to turn billy over & give him a serious test a genuine 50/50 fight

Ryder reminds me a lot of Gregorz Prokska in style. Hopefully he's not as open defensively.

Ryder is a tidy boxer but does not have the power to knock Saunders off stride - their respective amateur records back this up. Saunders will beat him down in a good bout.

I have heard Ryder is a good fighter, not seen much but I agree a few more fights but I do not rate Saunders too highly and his stamina is not good.

I'd put money on Saunders not being able to knock Ryder out. I wouldn't bet the other way.

If Saunders wins, it's on points and it's close. I really want to see this fight.

Acid test for BJS if this happens (not sure it will) and Still not sold on him. Worry about his engine and power at this weight. Still convinced he'd be a bigger force at LMW. If he decides to mix it with John he might come unstuck. I'd guess Billy would win a cagey close points desicion.

Gary O,Sullivan was supposed to be fighting Joe Selkirk on the Paul Butler/Yaqub Kareem undercard ay?,wasnt that fight scrapped before Butlers fight got postponed?
John Ryders already shown he can tough it out in the fight with Eammon O,Kane but i do think Billy Joe Saunders has got a bit too much experiance at this stage and would win a close decision, will be a brilliant match up if it happens

How can you say that? Your basically saying that Saunders will beat Ryder out of sight? Your letting your heart rule your head here. It will be a good close fight and it's hard to pick a winner but I edge towards Ryder.

You genurally think that it wouldn't be close? Do you think it's a mismatch then?

Who has Ryder boxed? Go on Ryder's records on here and you will see everyone of the opponents he has boxed, same with Saunders :TU:

Who has Saunders fought?

Come on!

Saunders has completed two twelve rounders & was flagging v Blackwell who never looked in trouble & landed decent body punches

Funny when you think we have Murray, barker, macklin ,lee , mcewan & Saunders holds the title without defeating any off them.
I'd personally slap anyone who says jr & bj should meet for somthing bigger

He hasn't fought Hope, Butler or Eubank Jr either. The only middleweight contenders Saunders has beaten are Hill and Blackwell.

Saunders ducking Ryder to fight O'Sullivan would be embarrassing, hopefully that doesn't happen.

Who promised it and why?

Can't Saunders fight Ryder and then fight O'Sullivan?
