Re: Kell Brook injured again
Obviously the good news about this is it allows Ringside the chance to run another 4 or 5 shows dedicated to Kell Brooks. Up close and personal, training in the gym, running with Johnny, talking to Adam, running and talking to Adam and Johnny, both at the same time, that sort of thing.
They could run these twice a week, back to back, for a month or two. I'm sure this would build up interest in Kal and whoever he's meant to be fighting.

Funny but true you cant hold that against kell though their show they choose what goes on it.MightyWarrior wrote:Obviously the good news about this is it allows Ringside the chance to run another 4 or 5 shows dedicated to Kell Brooks. TJ, why was Brook so poor in the Carson Jones fight? Why will he do better vs Devon Alexander, who has some genuine world class victories?

Re: Kell Brook injured again
Yeah Brook wasnt great against Jones but Bradley exposed some weaknesses in Alexander, especially mental ones,as did Mattysee, although i will give Alexander credit for toughing that one outTomasino wrote:TJ, why was Brook so poor in the Carson Jones fight? Re: Kell Brook injured again
Would be hard to blame goldenboy/Alexander if they had brook stripped of mandatory and move on to someone else who acutally has a name out in the states. Brook need to realize hes in a situation for the 1st time where he does not call the shots, hes not the name or the champ in this fight and if it means getting in the ring at 80% then thats whats hes got to do, he needs to take his chance or lose it.

It does seem to me to be just one of those things, lady luck not smiling down on him, hope he gets the chance before it passes him by,i really think he could beat Devon albeit with great difficultyrio wrote:Would be hard to blame goldenboy/Alexander if they had brook stripped of mandatory and move on to someone else who acutally has a name out in the states. He coasted up untill that fight trained like he had for all the others.Tomasino wrote:TJ, why was Brook so poor in the Carson Jones fight? Why will he do better vs Devon Alexander, who has some genuine world class victories?
But was also like most other lads his age out at the weekend and not eating right.
6 rounds in and your nose gets broke and the guy in front of you is turning on the pressure is a tough time to find out.Your not gods gift to boxing and need to prepare much better if your gonna have the lungs and legs to get past dedicated athletes.Kell did amazing to get through that fight if Jones had been a bit better fighter things could have been very different.Thankfully he held him off had done just enough in the first 6 was at home in a title eliminator all of which got him the win.
He showed mental strengh that night and his diet and training and lifestyle have had a massive overhaul.
If Saldivia had shown up Kell could have really shown how those changes had affected his perfomance he blasted Hector who never wanted to be there.
Devon Alexander is an experienced champion but likes to spoil and run his head can go if he doesnt get his own way.
Kell will hurt him and chase him down and hurt him again and again dont let him hold bullying him on the move as well as on the inside. It will not be easy as Alexander is good at making people look bad fitness and movement are massive in this fight.Alexander will get on his bike and Kell will need to be able t chase him so if he's foots hurt he will need to postpone i really hope its a scare and Monday will tell mate fingers crossed but given the history with this bout.
Re: Kell Brook injured again
With regards faking an injury, you cant fake a break and the Xrays will confirm it.
It's just a bad penny of a fight, with 3 cancellations now. I feel that Devon will seek someone else to fight on that show, let's hope he don't get injured doing so and maybe it happens over summer.
Feel for him, it must be gutting to do like 30 weeks of training and nothing comes out of it.

I wish I could look as good as Kell does physically by cutting corners in the gym and not eating right!TJ77 wrote: He coasted up untill that fight trained like he had for all the others.

Re: Kell Brook injured again
Don't think that's quite what im saying is it and how he looks now is down to the fact he changed what he was eating and trained in different ways. I was asked a question and gave an answer he was not preparing well enough for the level of opposition BUT IS NOW.Finch wrote:I wish I could look as good as Kell does physically by cutting corners in the gym and not eating right!TJ77 wrote: He coasted up untill that fight trained like he had for all the others.

TJ is close enough to the fire to know.
Kel has changed things both at "work" and at home.
Massive reality check the Jones fight.

It was George Groves who stamped on his foot tho. And told Haye that he should mention it straight after the fight.leforge wrote:But Haye did not reveal that in advance to his opponent.Coco wrote:At least dodgy toe Haye turned up!
Re: Kell Brook injured again
Stress Fracture for him left him unable to train for this fight - he said he still wanted to fight but if trained and fought could potentially cause further damage.
Think, from November to the last few weeks in camp with short breaks for the cancellations is hard on your body and mind so there will be injuries at some point.
I know that he is proper gutted about not fighting. Just needs to get his confidence back.
I think a high IBF ranked opponent in Sheffield in the summer leading to an autumn fight with the IBF holder as madatory.

Re: Kell Brook injured again
I really doubt this whole schtick that his camp came out with post-Jones
After facing 28 opponents with fcuk all ambitions he came up against a guy who wouldn't bend over and he struggled. For me it is as simple as that

Re: Kell Brook injured again
It had nothing to do with Saldivia not wanting to be there, the guys chinnys! Thats what happened in that fight. As for Brook hurting alexander over and over again and bullying him, first off, when has brook been a come forward bullying type of fighter? He's always been a clever counter puncher with good reflexes. Secondly Alexander has always shown a very good chin despite other flaws he has. Matthysse is a serious puncher *hits harder than Brook in my opinion* and aside from dropping Devon once in the fight, he took the best of what Matthysse had to offer! He also dealt with Maidana with very few problems. People are making Brook out to be some monstrous puncher when he isnt! Yes he can punch but he's not a truely big puncher!TJ77 wrote:He coasted up untill that fight trained like he had for all the others.Tomasino wrote:TJ, why was Brook so poor in the Carson Jones fight? Re: Kell Brook injured again
I can't really see Brook keeping his mandatory status, I know injuries happen but Alexander should be allowed to make a defense against a voluntary now, and maybe Brook gets the winner.
I can see the IBF losing patience with Brook over this, even if it isn't the boxers fault.

I certainly couldn't stand up to a Brook dig, however against world class fighters I think his power is below average. After all his big talk, he decides not to train for Jones and nearly gets beat. Great way to get to a world title.
