19th April Doncaster BBBofC Super Bantam Eliminator

Post by fightacademy »

Gavin Mcdonnell v Paul Economides this is going to be a real good 50/50 fight Gavin is stepping out of his twin brothers shadow and making waves himself weight above bantamweight king Jamie if Gavin comes thru this fight which is only his 8th pro fight I would love to make a fight with Josh Wale it would be a great fight for the local fight fans both good kids Gavin is improving that much and josh as stated in local press he's a much better fighter and confident he would beat Gavin.. So lets hope Gavin can win on 19th then an offer will be made to wale camp with a date at the end of June :-) can't beat a local derby

I am sure Paul has loads to fear from a man with so much of a skill set that he can scrape a draw with Ashley Lane

yes gavin is very poor infact hes that bad if paul dont win he should retire :OhYes: intersting views from josh warrington whos recently been down sparring and scott lawton whos recently brung Hanarhan down sparring what they think of a poor Gavin Mcdonnell and there views n thoughts who would win the fight.
if thats what your thinking then how the hell did Forman batter Frazer but couldnt beat Ali surely your not daft enough to go on a little 4 round contest that means nothing when everyone sat ringside had gavin winning 3 rounds to 1 :yay:
Jamie drew with dai Davies early in his career then wins British Commonwealth European titles boxing for the IBF Championship of the world in his next fight......

To be fair Martin, Ash Lane is a lot better than his record. If he boxed on home shows rather than on the road his record would be much better.

This is fight with Josh Wale - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hm98R96o0Yg

like you say steffy you carnt beat a local derby,we would take that fight in a heartbeat, both good kids would be a cracking fight, dont read to much into the press coments josh would'nt under estimate anybody,im sure both camps would be confident, lets hope gavin comes through ok and we can sit down and talk.mick.

Yes iv spoke to Carl today mick obviously like you say Gavin has to come thru this fight first but if doing so it would be the biggest local derby since myself and Gwyns fight which still gets talked about today.. We have nothing but respect for josh he's a proven fighter and only the best have beaten him its a massive fight that can be made with the winner going onto fight for a major title.. Obviously local press will have a field day but at the end of the day it's business with two young men that are well respected well mannered and willing to put it all on the line for that 1 night of glory it would be amazing if we can all sit down make the fight shake hands and be friends after we're all involved with a sport we love and passionate about sometimes it brings out moments of madness but if Gav comes thru on 19th hopefully we can talk business :-)

Why is what Ashley Lane says Interesting ?

Was it Interesting when he twice turned down boxing Leigh Wood ? Pretty sure the matches were made both times too only to see him pull out

Wonder what Dai Davies thinks of Jamie Mcdonnells chances of winning world title as he once held him to a draw.... wonder how Dai Davies would get on with Jamie Now!!!
having a draw with someone doesnt reflect the results its Lanes Oppinion which means nothing he was awarded a lucky draw
ask Scott Lawton what he thinks as hes also done loads with Paul n been bringing his fighter Hanarhan down for sparring..
see it all means nothing Frazer beat Ali got hammered by Forman n look what Ali did to forman... told you records are for DJs Gavin WILL win this he is that confident he was willing to do a winner takes all purse :yay:

It will be a belter, and all joking aside, it is great to see a show of this quality on the small hall circuit. Steffy has done a great job, total respect
